Happy Friday!! Yea, this week is at an end and so is the month of July. I don't know about you but I am glad this month is over and hopefully move on to a better month.
I made this for an inspiration challenge over at Lorie Ames site Live, Love, Laugh, Create. She found a cute little purse while on a getaway weekend with her husband. It is adorable and what a great inspiration piece. Go over to her site and check it out. You have until Saturday night to enter. Thank you Lorie for such a great challenge and inspiration.
I used my Large Octogon Nestabilites to make this card. The Dk Chocolate folds up to the inside so you can write a little something. I am going to have to learn to take pictures of that too! I used the largest octogon to make the white border and the Dk Chocolate is the next size down and folded so it would open. I used the third size down to make another white on the inside. The flowers I bought at a scrapbook store in Big Bear they are the color of daffodils so I thought the orange brads would look great for the centers and really make them pop out against the dk Chocolate. I used my rectangle marvy punch for the sentiment and used SU! Warmest Wishes.
I really like how this turned out and will probably make more of them. It was so quick and easy and would be great for a quick note card.
Thank you again, Lorie. This was fun and hope to do more challenges like this.
Have a great and and a wonderful weekend.
Thanks for stopping by,
Liz

Aready 2!!
Hi everyone!! Can you believe that this week is almost over and it will be August already. Time is really flying by way too fast.
Our granddaughter just had her second birthday last Sunday. I have been bad and just now getting thes posted.
I had this card in my for awhile and thought it would be perfect for her birthday. I did the rolling marble technique for the background paper. That was fun and help get a little frustration out. LOL!! The sentiment I used a spectrum ink pad to get the different colors to match the marble effect. I used PTI Alphabet set in random places for a different look.
The paper is also PTI Ocean Tides and White & Berry Sorbet. I put little H's on the balloons since it is her inital and the covered them with Ranger glossy effects.
Last month was her older sister's birthday and I made her an apron because she likes to bake. When I visited them back in April to see the new grandson we did some baking together. That was alot of fun. I heard that Haley wore her sisters apron whenever she didn't have it on, I knew she needed to have her own so I made her this one. I just love all the butterflies on it.
This is a stool/stepstool my husband built for her. Haley seems to be using her older sisters things, so we thought it was about time she had her own as well. I painted it and used a Gina K "Take Flight" Butterfly image and stamped it. It is hard to see in the pictures. I used the spectrum pad again and I love the softness of it.
That is about it for today. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!! Liz

Where has the time gone?
Happy Wednesday!!
Today is my husbands' and my 30+ anniversary!! The years have seemed to fly by. I still can't believe that is has been this many years. Time as just flown by. That was one of the inspirations to make this card with the pocket watch.
This is the card I made for my husband. I folded the top part of the card over so part of the inside of the card shows. I should have taken another view so you could see it better. He works nights so I wanted to have it done so he can see if first thing he gets home.
I am going to make this short.
Hope you have a wonderful day!!

Sunset Beach
Hello everyone!! Hope this week will be better than last. Sorry for the lack of posting. My couch and I became very acquainted last week. It was just not a fun week. By the end of the week I was feeling a whole lot better. But we also got some news about my MIL that is not too incouraging but we are praying and hoping things will turn out fine. As she says it she is leaving things to God and whatever happens is meant to be.
On Saturday we went to Sunset Beach. My husband and daughter have been wanting to go for a few weeks now. With our weather being in the 100+ for the last 16 days and more on the way, it was a terrific idea and we all had a lot of fun. This first picture of our oldest granddaughter I just love. She is standing in the water with a slight breeze blowing through her hair and just looking out at the ocean. You can's see him but there was a wind surfer out there and I think she was watching him.

The last time my daughter and I took her two boys to the ocean neither one wanted to go near the water. Since this trip is cousin and grandpa were there, he decided to go venture to the water. Once he decided to get his feet wet he loved it. He loved trying to out run the waves coming in. He did get out of the water for a little but when we were ready to leave he wanted to go back in again. I am sure we will be going back again sometime soon. Since out SIL is in the military who knows when they can get trandferred.
I wanted to take a picture of our daughter and her husband with the ocean behind them. This is them with the newest grandbaby on the way. Number 9. Where does all the time go?
Have a wonderful day!!

Christmas In July?
Happy Friday!! This sure has been a fast week but I think I am glad this one is over.
Whimsy Stamps is having a challenge with a Christmas theme. Head over there and give it a try. It seemed strange to a Christmas card when the weather is so hot outside. I just tried to think cold and snow but it is a little difficult when you are burning up. The only Whimsy stamp I have so far is this Lion. I really like him and wanted to do something with him. I didn't want to use the usual Christmas colors so I went with the blue. I am pleased with the way he turned out. I do have a couple of snowflake punches that I wanted to use but wouldn't you know it, I couldn't find them with my punches. I guess I am going to have to really go through my room but they are probably right under my nose and just can't see them.
I hope you have a wonderful day and a great weekend!!
Supplies:
Stamps- Whimsy Lion, PTI Holiday Tag Collection, Made of Snow
Paper- Select white, PP from stash
Ink- Momento Tuxedo Black, PTI Spring Rain
Accessories- Koh-i-noor Pencils, ribbon from stash, Martha Stewart Snowflake border punch, Ultrafine Prisma Glitter, Deckled Rectangles Nestablilities, scallop scissors

Enchanted Lily
Good morning everyone!! This has been a fast week. I seem to be playing catch up a lot this week.
I think I will on to this card. I wanted to do a Friday Sketchers challenge and wasn't sure what I would do. I went through my stamps and saw this image and thought it would be a good one for this sketch. Wasn't sure what colors to us so I started going through my PP and crocheted flowers and came up with this combination. I love how it turned out. It seems bright and cheery to me. I hope you like it also.
The weather is so hot around here and seems the news is saying that another heat wave is suppose come through this weekend. It makes it so hard to concentrate but I try to get in my craft room anyway to see what I can come up with. My husband just mentioned the other day that he would like to take a trip to the beach. He said he has been wanting to ever since I took our daughter and her boys. So maybe soon we can get a trip in since it is cooler there than the desert. Eventhough we are in the High Desert it still gets hot!! Nothing like the deserts like Palm Springs but hot enough.
Well, back to my card. I colored her with Koh-i-noor pencils this time. I do like my copics but do need to use other products, right?
Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a great day!
Supplies:
Stamps- Pink Cat Studio Enchanted Lily

Ink- Momento Tuxedo Black, PTI Aqua Mist
Accessories- Koh-i-noor pencils, Fiskars corner punch, Jumbo RickRack, Nestabilites Labels 4, Heidi Grace Rub-ons, brads, Golden Wheat Shimmers for wings, Crocheted flower I made

Thank you note cards
Good Wednesday to everyone! Can you believe that it is the middle of the week already.
I have been wanting to do a card for a while now that I could mass produce. I knew they should be simple so they would go fast. I did these two different ways as you can see.
The first one I just embossed the flower with a color and left it at that. The second one I embossed the flower in white and then sponged a color around it. They were both fast and easy. I am sure I will make more like these.
We heard from my SIL to let us know about my MIL. She came through the procedure okay and they are keeping her for a few hours to keep an eye on her. They won't know the results for a few days. So it will be sitting on pins and needles until then.
I am really going to make this short today.
Supplies:
Stamps- PTI Friends 'Til the End, SU! Warmest Regards.
Ink- VersaMark, True Black,Plum Pudding
Paper-PTI Select White
Accessories- PTI Lemon Tart Ribbon and Button, Scarlet Jewel Ribbon and Button, Stampendous Red Dragon Embossing Powder, Filigree white embossing powder

Oakley
Good Morning everyone!! Hope you are having a wonderful Tuesday.
I made this for the Whiff Of Joy sketch challenge. It is alway good to have a certain sketch in mind when you start a project. Well, for me it is.
My mind is working too well lately. I have been thinking about my MIL since her procedure is tomorrow. She lives in a different state and sometimes we don't always get the information very soon. I am hoping that we hear as quickly as possible about this one. I know the test will take a little time to get the results back so we may not hear anything for a few days.
Thinking of her pretty much brought the idea for this card. As you remember last week I sent her a card letting her know that we are always thinking of her. This card is similar to that idea. It does say thinking of you today. I will probably send this one off to her also.
I have also been busy trying to get some sewing projects done. With the heat that is going on it is easier to stay in the house and work on thinks. I just don't seem to be concentrating very well.
I have a granddaughter's birthday coming up at the end of the month and need to get done what I have planned to make her. She will be two but has an older sister that she follows after. I am going to make her an apron like I did her older sister.
Hope you have a wonderful day. Thanks for stopping by!!
Supplies:
Stamps- Oakley w/ wooden sign
Paper- SU! Brilliant Blue, PTI Select White, Soft Stone, Bitty Dots Basics, other from stash
Ink- Momento Tuxedo Black, SU! Brilliant Blue
Accessories- brads, copics, ticket punch, scallop border punch

Thank you...
Hello. Hope everyones weekend as been a good one so far. It is starting to really warm up around here.
I needed a thank you card and I saw a bedding set with something similar to this design and thought it would make a great background paper. When I stamped it I didn't want to take away from it so I decided not cover it with anything and leave it as the focal point of the card. It is strange how you can have one idea in your head and then when you go to make it, it turns out different. But I am pleased with how it turned out.
I was talking to my husband about watermarks and he started looking at programs on the computer and found one that we had so I could have one without going and buying a whole new program just yet. He is better at those things than I am. Here I had this program all along and didn't even know it because I don't check out things like I should to see what I actually do have. I am not very good when it comes to electronics and get frustrated real easy when things don't work out like I would like.
Everything used was PTI except for the black lace I had in my sewing stash and the sticker gems for a little bling. The colors I used were Hibiscus Burst and True Black. The stamps sets I used were Faux Ribbon and Damask Designs.
Thanks for stopping by!! Have a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday!
Hello everyone! Hope you weekend is off to a great start.
I wanted to post earlier than this but my computer hasn't really been cooperating lately. I just hope it doesn't go on the blink anytime soon.
I have been working on this card for a few days now. I just haven't been able to get it the way I want. Maybe I am being a little to particular. I think now that it is done that I am satisfied with how it came out.
I wanted to make it a window card right from the start. I liked the cupcake idea. I used liquid applique to make it puffy like icing. It is hard to tell in the picture. I stamped the cupcake bottom on pattern paper.
I made this birthday card for a challenge over at Whimsy Stamps.
Supplies:
Stamps- PTI Cupcake Collection, Fancy Floourishes, Simple Little Things
Ink- PTI Dark Chocolate, Momento Tuxedo Black
Paper- PTI Hibiscus Burst, Bitty Star Basic, and DCWV Nana's Nursery
Accessories- liquid applique, Dimensional stickers (flower), classic rectangle nestablities, pop-dots for the cupcake, PTI Raspberry Fizz Saddle ribbon.

Red, White and Blue, OCC Challenge
Hello, and Happy Thursday to everyone!!
I am finally getting back into the craft room and starting to make some progress. I have a few projects that not paper related that I need to work on also.
I decided to make this card and do two different challenges in one. Since it gave me the color combo and the layout all I had to do is decide what I wanted to use.
I pulled out a stamp from CC Designs that I haven't used in awhile. I embossed it. don't think you can tell in the picture.
I also bought a small bowdabra (I think around Christmas) planning on making a bunch of bows and never did. I was looking through some of my drawers and found it so I wanted to give it a try. Since this was my first one I think I need a little practice. I am going to try it again soon.
I used the sketch from Friday Sketchers and the color combo from OCC Challenge. I am going to have double up on challenges more often.
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!!
Supplies:
Stamps- CC Designs-Sweet Sophistications
Paper- PTI White, Bitty Star Basics, Bitty Dot Basics
Ink- Glue Pad
Accessories- Zing, wave embossing powder, Glue Pad, Polka Dot Ribbon, mini white flower, lace from stash, red roses from Making Memories

Sugar Bowl Challenge
I wanted to get back into the swing of things and start with a challenge. This is for Sugar Bowl. I just love this image and at the moment she is the only Sugar Nellie stamp that I have. She is so fun to color.
I literally got most of my supplies out of my scrap bin. I need to start using them up. I did use my deckled rectangle spellbinders to cut little Daisy out. The sun is cut with a spellbinders floral mini die cuts and used my copic system to air brush it and glittered it up.
As I was making this card and wondering what sentiment I was going to put on it my mother-in-law called. As I was talking to her I knew that I would make this for her and the sentiment seem to fit because she has decided to have a procedure done that is very risky for her.
Since I got most of my supplies from my scrap bin I can't remember all the details of what I used. Daisy is colored with copics and I airbrushed some clouds using a scalloped edge and masked it where I wanted the clouds and just kept moving it until I thought there was enough. If you have any questions just let me know.
Thanks for stopping by and have a good evening.
I am back...well sort of
I don't have anything crafty for you today but I thought I would share a couple of pictures from our little trip.
These double rainbows greeted us when we got into Utah. We hit some rain off and on. I thought that the double rainbow was a good sign that we were going to have a successful trip. We enjoyed the visit and of course got to see a couple of the grandkids (one we just saw for the first time).
We have not been able to light off our own fireworks for many years so it was a nice little extra to be able to light off our own this year. This is Grandpa and our grandson with sparklers. It was so much fun to see his reaction to all of the fireworks. The neighbors and all lit off fireworks, so we had our own little show.

When we got in it was in the middle of the night so our grandson was sleeping when we got in but to see his face and excitement in the morning when he saw us there was all worth the long drive. He seemed to be tongue tied at first but ran into my arms and then we he saw Grandpa, tells the tale that he missed us.

Little Ethan
It is Wednesday, Happy hump day to everyone!
This will probably be my last post for a few days. Since I am leaving a little later today to visit our son and his family. Have a great 4th of July weekend and I will be back the beginning of next week.
Over at Pink Cat Studios, they are selling these adorable digital images. They are to help the family of this little Ethan Weiman of at the age of 4 lost his life to cancer. Please go and check it out and with the purchase of one or all of the stamps the proceeds will go to the Make A Wish Foundation. Who has helped many people. They gave Ethan his own horse (which he was a cowboy at heart) and when that one passed away they gave him another one. You would be helping a very worthy case. He has a sister and there is a digital stamp of a little cowgirl also. They are so adorabe and so fun to color.
I had so much fun making this card and it seemed to come together so easily. I used a piece of thin cork (purchased at Michael's) wrapped a piece of ribbon from my stashe woven through a hodgepodge buckle from SU! The paper is from a pack that I bought from Joann's. I colored the little cowboy with my copics (which I need a lot of practice at :). The was cut out of Gold Shimmer fro Papertrey using a fiskers star punch and a smaller star for the middle was a Marvy star punch (green) with a Dark Chocolate Vintage Button with Papertrey button twine.
Hope you have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by and taking a look!
