Two Birthdays

Hello, I am redoing this post. I was told the last one the pictures didn't show up :(. I hope they work this time.
I am making this short. I won't be posting very much for awhile. I have been having some issues in my life that make it hard for me to craft and to even get creative. I would like to do more because it actually keeps me sane. We will see what I can do. I even told my husband that I should stop buying supplies because I am not using them much. But he told me that if it helps me that I should still go ahead. I have a wonderful husband that supports me in my adventures. Eventhough sometimes it is different than what I think but that is what makes us different and makes the world go around. Sorry I didn't me to go off on what I came to do. I appreciate all of you that come by my blog and visit and for any comments that you leave. They are so appreciated and thank you for the love you share. I hope you can stick by me at this time and hopefully I can get back to this wonderful craft on a more regular basis.

This candy container was made from a KFC side dish container that I gave to our granddaughter.

This is the card for our son-in-law whose birthday was a few days after our granddaughter's.

This is the card I made for our beautiful granddaughter whose birthday was last week. She is a joy to be around.

Have a wonderful day,

I have another card for you today using the Papertrey Ink Make it Monday Challenge. I actually made this one at the begining of the week but never posted it. I decided to go ahead and do it today. I used my Linen and Canvas impression plate for the bottom of the mat using New Leaf CS layed onto my base of Kraft CS. The image is from Floral Fusion #1. I had made a mat with thin cardboard from another project (which I wound up not using after all) and didn't want to throw away the cut out so I used it on this card and stamped my image. I used New Leaf ink for the stem and leaves and Raspberry Fizz for the flower.I tied embroidery floss on my button and glued it to my flower. I also used some liquid pearls on my leaves and round the button. I stamped the flower again on white and cut it out and popped it up with a pop up. The ribbon is Raspeberry Fizz saddle. I did score three lines above my impression and then used a white gel pen for some faux stitching. When my husband first saw it he thought I did some sewing on this card. When I first saw this set I was really drawn to the sentiment because I have been using it as my signature in my emails and at the bottom of my posts so I just had to use it. I stamped it with Raspeberry Fizz ink onto a Fillable Frames #11 and cut it to fit the top of my card. I used a couple of brads that I have had for ages. I used a corner rounder from Creative Memories. I distressed all of the edges with Snow White ink.

Verve Stamps Mojo Monday challenge

Hello!! I have had this card done for a few days now but am just now getting around to posting it. I was having some trouble with my computer and since I am not an electronics type of person I decided to shut it down and leave it alone for awhile. Sounds like having a fight with a real person and instead of making things worse I chose to leave things alone and cool down. I guess the computer is our friend and we should be nice to it. :)
I am playing along in the MOJO Monday 181 challenge this week over at Verve stamps. I have been seeing blue almost everywhere I go and for a long time I had a blue kitchen. So now I wonder if I should have kept it. I have had this paper in my stash I would say years. I saw it at Joann's and bought several sheets since I had the blue kitchen I would find things to do with it, right? Well it took me a long time to cut it up. I just wanted to look at it. I have recently realized hoarding it, isn't doing it or me justice.
Here is what I came up with for the challenge.

Happy Monday morning!I have been in a more creative mood lately! I am sure happy about that since I was in a slump for so long. This card started out with squares that were leftover from the card I made yesterday using Take Three die. Since the card wasn't finished and I saw the new Make it Monday challenge at Papertrey Ink, I decided to distress the edges of the squares. Thank you, Lisa for doing the video this week!. I have been trying to get out of my comfort zone and use colors that I wouldn't normally put together. I would say this card does just that. I love the sentiment from Handwritten Notes. I know many would love to see the sun shine more. We have the sun popping in and out of the clouds today. We are expecting rain.
I sure hope you are having a great start to your week,
Liz

A Kind Word

Good Evening!! I am back with my second card for another challenge over at Papertrey Posse. The challenge for this card was to make a spring card. I had daffodils on my mind so I pulled out my YOF set and got busy. I stamped the image with Smokey Shadow ink because I thought black would be too harsh. I then set to coloring it with my copics, again. I am not certified and not the best at coloring but I enjoy it and it is relaxing to me. I used a T1 copic to go around the edge of my daffodile. I think it make the image pop off the paper some. I stamped the sentiment from the same set in Orange Zest ink. I then distressed the edges also with Orange Zest ink. The pattern paper I used was Bitty Box in Lemon Tart and then used a Martha Stewart punch and again used Orange Zest.I am really liking this one.
Have a great evening!

Ahoy Little Sailor

Hi, I am back with another project I was able to get down this morning. I made this for the challenge over at the Papertrey Posse group that I am apart of. I was able to spend a part of my Saturday at the beach and was able to sit on the sand and read some and look out at the sailboats and parasailers. Please don't throw things at me.LOL I know many of you are still buried under with snow. This time I had to myself gave me the inspiration for this card. The challenge was for some kind of window card. I used Blueberry Sky CS and cut the windows using the Take Three die. I did pop it up with 3D dot strips. I first laid it on my card and traced lightly with a pencil so I would know where to stamp my image. I used Bitty Baby Blessings for the image and sentiment. I tried to make it look like the sailboat was actually sailing. I used my copics to color them in. I sewed white grosgrain ribbon and just pushed under my sewing machine foot as I sewed. I hoped it would look somewhat like waves. Somewhat of a simple card but I do like how it turned out. Since it isn't for any pacific occasion so I just might send it to one of my grandsons for no particular reason but to say hello.
Hope you have a enjoyable rest of your day!

Things to do

Hi! I am back with another project using fun foam. I saw a notebook made with foam and decided to make one for myself. I cut the cover with fun foam. The paper with library ledger paper and cut it in fourth so that determined what size my notebook was. It was just a quick project but I like how it turned out. I cut the die from Button card and made and stamped four on my foam with fresh snow. I cut another from vintage cream and stamped it with images from Take Note using Dark Chocolate. I then used one of the little images to stamp in the corner of the background images.
That is about it for now. I do have a couple of other projects that I made this morning and will be back later to post them.
Thanks for stopping by,
Liz

A Delightful Waste of Time

Posted by Picasa
Hello! It is Friday, Yea!!! It has been one of those weeks that you want to hurry up and get over with. Looking forward to the weekend. I was blog surfing one day and came across this new blog. Well, new to me "A Delightful Wste of Time". She is celebrating her 2nd blogaversiary. She has some challenges going on. She is awarding badges and as a final grand prize she is giving a Waltzingmouse stamp of your choice. So why not give it a try. You have until Sunday night to play along. I decided to do the sketch challenge. I seem to be in need of a boost of creativity and thought this might do it. My CS stock is from SU! I am sorry but mixed some of my papers up and don;t remember the colors. The PP is some I had in my stash. That is another area I need to fix. I seem to hoard my paper because I don't want to cut it up. I stitched around each panel with my mini sewing machine. I used PTI's Limitless Labels and Round and Round Limited Stamp set for my focal image. I used cream wrinkle ribbon and made a dowble bow for more fullness. I actually painted the bird with some frosted ink, but am not quite sure if I like how it came out.
Hope you have a wonderful day and weekend,
Liz

Make It Monday #4

Posted by Picasa
Hello! It is time for another Make It Monday Challenge at Papertrey Ink. This week Heather Nichols challenged us to us Fun Foam. I have never used it in my crafts until now. I don't have any little ones at home so I wasn't able to raid their craft supplies. So it was off to the local craft store to get some. I just picked up a few colors to give it a try. I do like how easy it works with the dies. I am sure that I will using it again. This time I went with something simple. I am beginning to like these CAS cards. Fot the base of my card I embossed it with the Picnic Plaid embossing plate. I cut mat for the butterfly and used some rub ons for the Butterfly trail. The butterfly was cut with fun foam and stamped with an image from Butterfly Dreams. The sentiment is also from Butterfly dreams stamped with Aqua Mist. The button and ribbon are Aqua Mist. I used some gems for some added sparkle. The corners were cut using the ticket punch from SU!.
I am going to make this short. My husband is home today. He had to report for jury duty this morning but his group got excused so I am going to take advantage of the time we have together.
Have a wonderful day,
Liz
