Is it Friday yet?

Hello! This week hasn't started off that great. It isn't really anything bad but things just aren't turning out like I have hoped they would so I am hoping the rest of the week is better.

We will be leaving on Wednesday for Utah to see our son and their newest addition to their family. There is a little granddaughter that we haven't seen yet and of course their son that I used to watch alot when they lived close so it will be good to see them. We will be staying for the 4th of July. I am not sure if I will be able to post while we are there. I am hoping to get a couple of things done before we leave but we will see with all of the last minute things that need to be done.

I don't have any children left at home but I do have my mother living with us and she has a regular check-up with the doctor before we leave and then laundry and all the other good things when you take a trip. The good thing is that we will be there the same night of the day we leave. It is still a long drive. It will be worth it to see the kids.

You came here to see what project I have done. I struggle with masculine cards. This card was make for my husband's brother-in-law. His birthday is the 5th so I needed to get it mailed before we leave. I am not sure if I like how it turned out. Actually it wasn't what I first had planned but this is what I ended up with. It is about a 4x4 card. I had a piece of cardstock in my stash and instead of cutting any more I just used it. I think he will appreciate it. Just the idea that we remembered he will like.

I was a little winded this time.
Thanks for stopping by and have a very good day!!

Congratulations!!!

Yeah, it's Saturday!!
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. I am hoping to get some crafting in.
This card I made for our daughter and her husband as I said in an earlier post she let us know she was expecting. The gift she gave her father said it so she just had to wait for him to read it. It was so hard for her to hold a secret since she and her boys spent a few days with us just before.
The stamp Oh! Baby, I won on All that Scraps Blog. I was sure when I would be able to use it since I didn't know anyone that was expecting. I could see my daughter laughing under her breathe when I told her about it. I have fun coloring her with my copics. I colored a few with different colors but she likes purple so I went with this one. I am hoping she has received in the mail. I colored at the beginning of the week but didn't want to post until so it would be a surprise when they received it. Since she already has two boys she is hoping for a girl and I am hoping that she has one. I am already thinking of all the cute little girl things I can make. I will sew for boys also but I love doing all the girly things.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!!!

Friday Sketcher's Challenge

Happy Friday everyone!!

I haven't participated in Friday Sketcher's challenge for a couple of weeks now. I really liked this sketch and thought it would be great for an anniversary card. My sisiter-in-law and her husband will be having theirs on the 6th of July. They have three days in a row to celebrate. The 4th of July and then his birthday is on the 5th and then their anniversay on the 6th. So there will be a birthday card coming soon. I struggle with masculine cards so I have a challenge in itself on that one.

My sister-in-law likes getting the home made cards. She said one time that whenever she receives one she takes it to work and shows them off. My husband's family isn't into too much crafting. Her friends ask where she gets them and she told them that they are home made and she will let us keep sending them to her because she likes them so much. I hope she likes this one!!

Stamps- PTI Fancy Flourishes, Wishing You

Paper- PTI Oceans Tide, PP from Cloud 9 pack I bought at Joanne's

Ink- PTI Ocean Tides

Accessories- Cloud 9 sticker embellishments, flourish gem from Michael's, flower gem (I don't remember where I got it, sorry

Papertrey Ink June Blog Hop

Hello everyone!! This is my first blog hop and I am excited about it. I was at my daughter's for last months. It was so much fun seeing what everyone had done. So I thought I would do this month and join in on the fun. Since this month's theme was summer, picnics just came to mind and was so glad when my shipment came in so I could use my "Vintage Picnic" set. My first full size quilt was a red, white, and blue that I use for picnics and the park so that was my inspiration for this one. It isn't the design I did but I like the ideas of the stars so I might just have to make one like this one.
Thanks for stopping by!! Have a great night!!

Hello, everyone! How is your week going so far. It is half over all down hill from here. It is time for another Raspberry Suite Color Challenge. These are great challenges in the fact it is sometimes hard to know what colors go together. At least the biggest part is done for you.

I made this card with my mother-in-law in mind. She is going through some hard times right now medically. She has a big decision to make and I wanted to send her a card to let her know that we are thinking of her and sending hugs since we can't be with her at this time. It's Your Day!!

Happy Monday to everyone!! Did you have a wonderul weekend.
We had our daughter and her two boys for a few days. Her and I planned on getting some crafting in but that didn't work out like we had hoped. On Friday we took her two boys to the beach since they have not been before (they were born in Alaska). It was nice to be able to be with them for their first visit. They didn't want to go in the water but sure had fun playing in the sand and looking for shells. When we got back home, we made some strawberry jam. It was fun doing that together and plan on doing it more and different kinds. On Father's Day we took them back home to meet up with her husband. He went on a 4 wheeling trip. We had dinner and then our daughter gave her dad a present that she made with pictures of him and the boys. The very last space she put that the expected arrival of their third will be in February of 2010. This will be our 9th and is still exciting news and I know she has been wanting another and is hoping for a girl. I am so excited for her and already have ideas going through my head to make for her. I make quilts and already thinking of what I will be able to come up with. She is not wanting to know what she is having until the baby is born so I won't know the sex until then either. Her husband wants to know so he will find out and probably could get him to tell me but I think it will be more fun to want until the day of the arrival.
CONGRATULATIONS, Jason and Melissa!!!!
Now on to my project. I made this card for my husband for Father's Day. He is always there for me and I wanted to let him know that he is my star. It came together pretty easy. I wasn't at first what I was going to do. This one seemed to go together on its own. I love how it turned out.
The strips on the ribbon were done with a stamp from Faux Ribbon (Papertrey Inc.). I saw Nichole use it on one of her cards and really liked the look and thought I would give it a try.
Thanks or stopping by and have a wonderful day.

How would you like this in your yard?

I don't have anything crafty for you today but I do have what was in our yard.

I went out in my patio one morning and saw this running across. I tried to get a picture of it then but he took off. I thought he was gone until my husband opened the garage yesterday to get his motorcycle out and this came up to his heel. We tried to chase him out but in ran back in and hid somewhere so we closed the garage and figured he would get out somehow. This afternoon when he opened the garage he was hanging on the door. Our grandsons was chasing him and it was like he posed for me to take a picture. But the silly thing ran back into the garage and is still there until another day. Hopefully not too long!!

Have a great day!!
Hope I will be able to get in the craft room soon. Until later.

"Have a Hoot of a Day"

Hello and welcome!!
Father's Day is on Sunday. My father and father-in-law are no longer with us. But I do have sons and sons-in-law so I like to make them cards for the them. I made this one more generic since they are not my father. I thought this was a cute saying and I just love the owl set from Papertrey Ink. You can change the eyes and bellies to whatever suits you at the time. I just love the versatility of stamps.
I started out making the background paper using my Faux Ribbon from PTI. You would think they are the only stamps I have but I assure you I do have others. Back to the paper. I stamped the Summer Sunset first with the Faux Ribbon on the diagonal and then went back in between with my Dark Chocolate and then distressed the edges with Dark Chocolate. I used Dk Choclate ribbon, I thought it made him look like he was sitting on a branch.
Since my daughter and grandsons will be here, I still hope I will be getting some time in to blog and do some stamping. That is one of the plans anyway.
Thanks for stopping by!
Have a wonderful day and see you soon!!
Supplies:
Stamps- PTI Faux Ribbon, Wise Owl
Paper- Rustic White
Ink- Summer Sunrise, Dark Chocolate, Momento Tuxedo Black

Whimsy

Hello everyone!! How was your weekend. I didn't get to do all the crafty that I was hoping for. I gave hubby his Father's Day present a week early. I bought him a couple of accessories for his Harley. Since they needed to be put on I gave him a "little help" yesterday. By the time we got done it was time to make dinner and we wanted to watch a movie. We watched "Gran Torino", great movie! I sure didn't expect the ending it had. Today it was a half way decent day so we took a short ride on the Harley.

Since I just received this little guy I wanted to ink him up and better reason that for a challenge over at Whimsy Stamps. I think he is so adorable. At least I was able to get this done this weekend. I will be inking him up again real soon.

I will be back later to give you the details on what I used, I want to get him posted over at Whimsy since the challenge is for tomorrow.

See you later!!

Puff Box

Happy Saturday everyone!! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend planned. I am going to get some crafting in. My husband going to work on a storage for my copics. It is so wonderful to have a handy man around. He builds them and then I finish it. It tells everyone that he puts them together and then I make them pretty. But if he didn't do such a good job no matter what I did to it, it wouldn't look that good. He has built a few pieces of furniture for the house and even for my craft room. I show him what I like and he tries to build it. (Our kids even do that or throw hints at what they would like). I like the idea of homemade things. Just think of all the heirlooms that will be passed down to our kids and grandkids (even more than what they already have).

Today's project is a little puff box that I found over at Splitcoast Stampers. It is one that I didn't download the instructions figuring that I could go and do it without them. Well wouldn't you know it, when I went to make it I didn't do it right and so I had to put it aside until I looked at the instructions again. Once I did that it was so simple and easy to put together. Wouldn't these be so cute for party favors or just a small token for a thank you! I know I will be making more of these.

Thanks for stopping by!! Have a great weekend.

Supplies: Stamps, CD for template, Ribbon for closure, Glossy CS

A Warm Cup of Tea?

Hello!! Let's hope this day gets better than it started out. I woke up with a slight sore throat. I am hoping it doesn't get any worse than it is. I had the hubby home sick at the beginning of the week and I don't want to get what he had.

Let's get on to a happier note "crafting". I made this card up last night after two attempts at other projects that didn't go so well. After putting them away and rethinking what I was doing realized that I didn't follow directions to well. My husband always tells me to read the instructions, but do you think I would listen. Not usually :). I guess I should start.

I really like how it turned out. I paper pieced the teapot and also did some paper piercing on the bottom. I kept it simple because I just thought they way things were going that is the way I should go.

Supplies:
Stamps- PTI Tea for Two
Ink-Momento Black
Paper- PTI Stamper's Select White, New Leaf, Tea Leaf PP
Accessories- Ornare piercing template, fiskars corner punch, PTI New Leaf Vintage Button, Crocheted Flower, Lemon Tart Ribbon

Ride the Big Wave

Did everyone have a good weekend? It is a start of a new week and hope it has started off on a good note.
Isn't this little guy the cutest? He is from Our Craft Lounge and exclusive to Electic Paperie. He so much fun to color. I just received him the other day and just had to ink him up.
I inked him with momento black ink on Prism Smooth White and colored him with copics. I used scrap paper from my stash. The blue is PTI Spring rain and was embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder (bubbles). The brown is PTI Dark Chocolate and cut with a nestability and then I used a corner punch to make the bubbles on the side to hold him in. The seagull is from some emblishments that I bought at Michael's.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #8

Happy Saturday to everyone!! It looks like it may be a beautiful day today.
Yesterday, we went to our granddaughter's 8th grade graduation. I still can remember when she was born and what an exciting day it was. She is our first grandchild and everything was so exciting with her (I can't forget the others and it is just exciting with them). We have two more starting school this coming fall. It was a bittersweet moment knowing that she will be in High School and preparing herself to go to college. She is a good girl and know that she will go far.
Tonight we are off to the rodeo. Our city has a rodeo every year. It isn't a major one but it is fun to go and watch. Our daughter and her family are coming down to go with us. They have two young boys that love the rodeo. I almost thing it is more fun to watch them than watching the rodeo. But that is me because I enjoy watching things through the younger ones eyes.
Now on to this bag in a box. Dawn McVey does some great color challenges. I have fun with them, but this time I decided I wanted to do something other than a card. I saw on All that Scraps blog that they were doing these cute bag in a box. They are so fun to make and thought I would combine the two. I love how this one turned out and hope you do too!
Supplies:
Stamps- PTI Fancy Flourishes, Around and About Sentiments (the dot with the flourishes), SU! Yummy
Paper- PTI Kraft, Raspberry Fizz, Dark Chocolate, Vanilla Cream
Ink- Vanilla Cream, Dark Chocolate, Raspberry Fizz
Accessories- SU! Round Top Punch, Crocheted Flower (by me), PTI Vintage Dark Chocolate Button,EK success border punch, brown ribbon
Have a great weekend and Thanks for stopping by! See you next time.

Butterfly

Happy Friday!! The weekend is upon us. I sure am looking forward to it.

This is a little butterfly basket I made for my granddaughter. She is graduating from 8th grade today and thought this was cute to put a little gift in it for her.

I found the template to make this at Toys Haven. It is so easy to put together.

There was no stamping with this one. I just added a few emblishments to it.

Have a wonderful and we'll see you tomorrow!!

Summer Time

Good Morning!!
This is a very simple and easy card. It sure doesn't look like summer outside here as I am typing this. It has been raining off and on with thunder and lightening. It is kind of nice but I thought of summer and how we used to spend alot of time there. Since we have moved to the desert,we don't go that much anymore. This scene reminds me of some of those relaxing and kicking back kind of days. I tried to make the banner to look like a banner being pulled by a plane but since I didn't have one I just made it go off the edge of the CS.

Supplies:
Stamps- PTI Day at the Beach
paper-PTI Stampers Select White, Spring Rain,
Ink-PTI Lemon Tart, Aqua Mist, Dk Chocolate, Pure Poppy, SU! Sahara Sand, Momento Black
Accessories- PTI Lemon Tart button, stickles, fun flock with dazzling diamonds in it for a little sparkle

Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!

A Gift for You

*entered for challenge at Stamp With Fun*
Good Monday Morning!! Hope everyone had a great weekend.

My granddaughter is graduating from pre-kindergarten on Thursday, which is also her birthday. I thought since I was sending her her birthday presents that I would make her a simple gift for her to give her teacher and teacher's aide. I bought a notebook a Michael's in the $1 bin. I just covered it with pattern paper and cut a couple of flowers from the Marvy punches. Put a PTI vintage button on top. The sentiment is from PTI Teacher's Apple. The stars were stickers I had in my stash. The post-it note pad was stamped with apples from PTI Teacher's Apple and added a little pen. These are quick and easy little note pads to put together.

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you have a great week.
