Thinking of you....

Good Morning!! That means it is time for another Whimsy Stamps challenge. This week is monochromic. We would love for you to join us. As always you do not need to use a Whimsy Stamp but if you do we would love to see it. I choose to use this turtle because of knowing I wanted to use green of course he went along with that. I used copics to color him. He was cut out with a #6 nestabilitie. The base of the card is PTI Ripe Avacado layered with Spring Moss and the new Turning a New Leaf pattern paper. The ribbon is Spring Moss and stamped the sentiment on the ribbon in Ripe Avacado.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and a great weekend. We had a pretty good one. I even took my granddaughter to see New Moon. She really enjoyed and even wore her Team Jacob shirt. I had read the books so at least I knew what it was all about. It was nice having an outing with her.
Today our son-in-law is being promoted today ( he is in the Air Force) and my husband and I were invited to go to the ceremony, so we will be doing that later today. I haven't been to any thing like it so it will be all new to me. My husband was in the Marine Corps and they did the promotion within the squad and don't remember the families being invited.

Have a wonderful day,
Thanks for stopping by,

Christmas Wishes

Good morning everyone! Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We spend it with a couple of our kids and their families and even got to bring out oldest home with us for the rest of the weekend. It is always a joy to have her around. We do projects and hang out together. If she has homework to do she does that while I am either crafting or on the computer. She has read all of the Twilight books and so have I. Since she hasn't seen New Moon yet, we are going to try and fit that in this weekend also. I am glad that we can do things like that together and even better than she wants to share things like that with me.
Now onto my card. This for a challenge over at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!! The challenge was to make a Christmas/Winter card. I just loved this image called Ozzie and Harriet and wanted to color it right away. I am thnking about using it for my Christmas cards since it is only my husband and I. The colors I chose to use are PTI Spring Rain, Scarlet Jewel and Stampers Select white. I love this color combination. I colored it with my copics and used some nesties to cut it out. The ribbon is Scarlet Jewel polka dot. I used a label punch from Stampin' Up! and a circle punch to place the sentiment on top and put some pearls on top and bottom. I used some stickles for the ice.
That is about it for me today,
Have a wonderful weekend,
Thanks for stopping by,

.RSCC #19 I'm so Grateful....

Hello, back again with another post for you. I have had a little extra time in my craft room the last couple of days and feel I have gotten several things done that I wasn't sure I would be able to. This card is for Dawn McVey's Raspberry Sweet color challenge. Aren't the colors so pretty for this color challenge. That is an actual T-shirt that Dawn is wearing in the photo.
I have to admit that I was a little leary of these colors. I wanted to get out of my comfort zone and give it a try. I was lucky enough to have my order arrive early yesterday morning while I was in the craft room so I was able to use a couple of my new stamps, The card base is Raspberry Fizz. I used my Turning A New Leaf set stamp the tree branch in Spring Moss on Aqua Mist CS. The little bird is from Birds of a Feather stamped with Dark Chocolate. I layered it on Lavendar Moon and punched the bottom with a new border punch from Martha Stewart. The sentiment is stamped in Dark Chocolate from Dawn's new set Signature greetings. I love how it is hadwritten and it is even better since it isn't my handwriting. I used Dark chocolate ribbon.
Have a good day. I may have more posts later so check back.
Thanks for coming by,

November Papertrey Blog Hop...

Good evening, everyone!! It is hard to believe that it is already time for another PTI blog hop. This year just seems to be zipping by.

I was finally able to get my project done for tonight. I was sure if I was going to be able to. But I am sure glad that I did.

These tags I have had in my mind for sometime since I saw what the blog hop was going to be. I just received my Labels 6 Nestabilities a few days agao and instantly thought they would be perfect. I used the second largest die. I used my vintage tea dye duo to distress my edges. I stamped the hangers for the ornaments in Encore gold ink. I thought I would just make different colored ornaments with with my vintage buttons. I stamped the gingerbread man with Dark Chocolate and used some Pure Poppy vintage buttons. I popped him up with pop-up dots. The candies were from a set that I happened to come across in my supply. I turned one around so you could see the to/from stamp. I used Holiday Button Bits and 2009 Holiday Tag Collection for the to/from. I used button twine from PTI to make a hanger. I loved how they turned out. I am going to make some more for all my grandkids.

Can't wait to see what all of you have done!
Have a great night and have fun hopping from blog to blog,
Have a Happy Thanksgiving to everyone in US.

You're so Sweet!

Good evening! Look at the stamp I won over at Motivet! They are so cute and couldn't believe that I actually won 5 stamps of my choice just for leaving a comment. They are so adorable that it was so hard to choose. Since I got them in time for this weeks challenge, I wanted to ink one up and join in on the fun. I chose this stamp because my husband is a Kansas boy. Their state flower is the Sunflower so now I do things with sunflowers whenever I can. The least I can do since we don't live there. We do make trips there once in a while.
This was a sketch challenge so that was taken care of. I just started putting things together and am pretty happy with the way it turned out. I used one of my new nesties to cut her out. The pattern paper is some that I had in my stash. The border is an Ek Success punch. She is colored with copics. I think the sunflowere turned out a little darker than what I was hoping but I like anyway.
Have a big list of things to do for tomorrow so I have been trying to get some projects in before the deadline. Almost but still a couple of more to go. So you may be seeing more projects in one day.
Have a great evening,
Thanks for stopping by,

No PP or DP....

Hello everyone!! Are you ready for Thanksgiving? It is almost here. The good food, family and friends a good thing.

This card is for a challenge over at The Greeting Farm. The challenge was to not use any designer or pattern paper. I used a cuttle bug embossing folder to make the flowers in the background. I have had this little lady for a little while now and am finally inking her up. I wasn't sure at first how I wanted to use her. This little hippie kind of takes me way back. I am probably going to date myself a little but while in high school during home economics (sewing) I remember making a dress with a nehru jacket with some sort of bright colors. It is so funny because I don't have it now but I can actually picture it as if I just looked at it in my closet. I sort of went with a few of the colors in that dress.

I started by stamping Hippie Anya with Momemto Tuxedo Black on PTI Stamper's Select White and color her with my copics. I so need to more practice and colors. I just love these markers because of the blending and how the colors look. I cut her out with one of my new nestablilities Labels 9. I used Orange Zest from PTI to distress the edges. I also colored the flowers with my copics. The base of the card is Orange Zest. The lime colored ribbon I had in my stash and put some other ribbon I had on top of it.

Happy Holidays!

Happy Monday! Well it is a short week and so much to do. I hope I can fit it all in, in a couple of days. My husband has a really short week. He only works two days and it won't even be his normal hours. It is going to be crazy. It will be nice having him home for pretty much a week. We don't really get to spend too much time together with his work schedule, so we shall see how it goes. Then he is off until Tuesday of next week.

Onto my card for Whimsy Stamps this week. The challenge this week is a Christmas card. We all need ideas, right unless you are one of those that already have them done. I am still working out my ideas so I am not done. Why don't you come over at if it a try. Remember you don't need a Whimsy Stamp to play along, but if you have one we would love to see it!

I thought this week I would do a little different with my card and cut the base out with one of my nesties. Aren't these cute little playful raccoons adorable. I also used the same shape as the card base to cut them out. I used copics to color them. The PP is from Papertrey Ink and so it the ribbon.

Hope you have a wonderful day!!
Thanks for stopping by for a visit,

Finally an easel card!

Hello, well this week is almost over. Tomorrow we are heading over to our daughter's for a birthday party for our grandson. He turned 6 yesterday. I can still remember the day he was born. He was born in Alaska while they were stationed there. It was my first time there and have never experienced that cold of weather. It was nice to see and visit. He has really grown.

I have been wanting to an easel card for sometime since I have been seeing them on lots of blogs so I thought his birthday card would be a good time to make one. I bought this knight and dragon set from MFT sometime back. I don't have many boy stamps. I so need to get more. It doesn't have too much detail on it. I hope he likes it.

The pattern paper is some I had in my stash. I saw the blue and thought of him because that is his favorite color right now. The green and blue CS are from Stampin' UP! but I can't remember the names. I used my Just Right stamps for the "Happy Birthday". I used some silver gems to hold the card like an easel.

That is it for today,
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!

Bernadette

Hello, well I am back with another challenge. This one is for Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. She has some adorable stamps and I just love this one when I first saw her. The challenge this week was to use circles.

This is a very simple layout. I stamped Bernadette with Momento Tuxedo Black Ink. She is colored with copics. The muffs I used some fun flock to give them a little texture. I just love this stuff. I used the cuttlebug snowflakes embossing folder and the rubbed my versa mark champaign pad over it. The ribbon and cardstock are from Papertrey ink (Ocean Tides). I stamped two snowflakes from Papertrey Rustic Snowflakes with my glue pad and the sprinkled them with ultrafine prisma glitter. The sentiment is also from the same set. I popped up the circles with pop up dots.

That is about it for me today.
Have a good one,

With Sympathy

Good Morning!! Can you believe this week is half over already! Time is just flying by way too fast.

This is a very simple card. I have been needing to make this card for a couple of weeks now and just didn't know what I wanted to do and they are the hardest to make because of the reason. Our son-in-law lost his Grandmother (Cookie Grandma) the day before Halloween. He was really close to her and it wasn't any easy time. As I am sure it still isn't. She was a very nice lady. She raised I believe 16 children, lived alone for as long as she could and celebrated her 90th birthday this last June. She will be greatly missed.

I started out looking at what paper and stamp set to use. As you can see there really is no stamping except for the sentiment on the inside. When I saw this paper I felt that it could stand on its own and didn't need anything else. I did put a rub-on in the upper corner. I did put a background paper and punch the edge with a EK success scallop punch.
I also took a piece of the paper after cutting it down and put in on the inside and stamped my sentiment on it.
Thanks for stopping by today!
Have a good one,

Whiff of Joy

Good evening!! I am posting tonight because I will be leaving early in the morning to go to my daughter's. She has an appoitment and I am going to babysit her boys and get the older one off to school. It is been a long time for me since I have gotten kids of to school, so we will see how it goes. Since they live about an hour or so away for us it will be a bit of a drive by myself. I will have my radio and CD's to keep me company.

I made this card for Whiff of Joy color challenge this week. You are suppose to use brown, orange and ivory. I started with my Willow with cookies image. This is the time of year that I really like baking and cookies are a favorite. I used my copics to color in shades of oranges and brown. She was stamped on Vintage Cream cardstock from Papertrey Ink. The card base is Orange Zest. I used Dark Chocolate and layered it with Autumn Abundance pattern paper (also PTI). The ribbon was some I had in my sewing stash so I am not sure where I got it. The flowers are from Prima that I got at Michael's. I just love the glitter on the center one. It came in the jar and also the sheer flowers. The orange brad is some that I got sometime back.

Thanks for coming stopping by!

Whimsy Stamp Challenge

Good Morning!!

It is time for another challenge over at Whimsy Stamps. Before I get to my project for this week I would like to say Happy Birthday to my husband. Happy Birthday Robert! Hope you had a good celebration on Saturday.

Now onto my project. This weeks challenge is anything but a card. I chose to do a template from Lauren Meader. This one is called fold and go. I started out making this to put one my husbands gifts in but it turned out not to be quite big enough. This image is called Knight Connor. Isn't he cute?
We would love to have you join us this week. You do not need one our stamps to join in but if you do then we would love to see what you create with it.

Have a great day!

Harley Davidson

Hello!! Sorry for the lack of posting this week. It has been busy and crazy. I have done a few projects but haven't got them ready for posting yet.

Well onto this card. My husband's birthday is on Monday but we are celebrating it tomorrow (Saturday). Couple of our kids will be over with their families and I am going to fix a dinner for all of us.

This is a pretty simple and basic card. I used PTI Orange Zest and True Black and Stamper's Select white. The ribbon is also PTI. I used my Label One nestabilities for the emblem. The border punch is from EK Success.

I bought this Harley Davidson stamp set a while back when I was in Wisconsin visiting my daughter and her family. I told my son-in-law that while I was there I wanted to go to a Harley shop well he took me to a couple. One he took me to had a museum and the owner had several oldie but goodie cars in excellent condition. He also had a part of the shop with some pretty neat animals, would you believe the were even crocodiles. At first I didn't think they were real since they didn't even move or blink their eyes.

Hope you have a great evening and weekend. Thank you for stopping by, Liz

Miss Posey

Hello!! Well I finally purchased some stamps from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps and just recently received them. They are so cute. I just had to ink this little lady up. I had so much fun with her. I first chose some pattern paper that i just recently purchased and took my colors from that.

It is a gloomy and dreary day here. Overcast and just a day you want to cuddle up with a good book or get in the craft room and get a few things done. I know I just want to work on some projects that I have been needing to get done. I will be doing that here shortly after I get done typing this post.

Thanks for stopping by today, have a good one!

Navajo Anya

Good Morning everyone! How is your week so far? I have been trying to get a few things done that I have been putting off.

Over at Moxie Fab World, Cath is having a challenge to use Plum. I thought of my Plum Pudding CS from Papertrey Ink. I have inked this little cutie up since I bought her. The PP is also Papertrey. I picked the paper and went with colors in it to color Anya from The Greeting Farm. I used my deckled nestabilities to cut her out. I used a Martha Stewart loop punch on each end to make it look like fringe on a rug. When I showed it to my husband that is the first thing he said before I even said that is what I was hoping it would look like. The buttons are PTI vintage buttons and I used embroidery thread in matching colors.

That is about it for me today! Have a wonderful one!

Thank your for stopping by,

Whimsy Challenge

It's Monday and we know what that means it is time for another Whimsy Challenge. This week's challenge is to use watercoloring on your card. This moose image I thought would be a perfect image for that. I also chose this image and use the challenge myself to make a Birthday card for our son-in-law. His birthday was this past Saturday. He is in the military and also marched in a Veteran's Day Parade. He is a hunter and while the family was stationed in Alaska he shot a moose and had it mounted so it is hainging in their living room. He asked if I was going to put it on my blog, so here it is. J, I hoped you had a great birthday and we are glad that we were able to celebrate with you.
The weekend just went by so fast. Hope you had a wonderful one and are off to great start to your week.

You Caught Me..

Hello everyone. How is everyone today? My husband has a short week at work this week, he gets off early tonight and then is off until Monday. Long weekend is always nice but it is bad on the paycheck. His work has been effected with this mandatory days and time off. At least it hasn't been too bad and is only once in awhile. The upside is that we get to spend more time together. It is going to be a busy weekend this weekend. On Saturday our son-in-law is in a parade (he is in the military) so we are going to try and get to that and then spend the rest of day with the family for a get together since it is also his birthday. I still need to make him a card but I am working on it still.

On to my card for today. I bought this cute image from Whimsy Stamps a little while back and just now finally getting it inked up. I just love images that I can use my copics with. On the water I used my white smooch to give it a little shimmer. The tag I stamped my sentiment on Poly Shrink and used a quarter inch hole punch for the opening then used my heat gun to shrink it. Over at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps their challenge is to use a tag on your creation. I don't have any of their stamps yet but I have ordered some and waiting for them to get here.

Have a wonderful day,
Thanks for stopping by today,

Halloween Night....

I don't have anything crafty today but I would like to share our night with the Grandkids on Halloween. It was a fun night. It has been quite sometime since my husband hasn't had to work so we wanted to spend the night with the grandkids. It was a great night, so fun seeing all of the excitement and their costumes.
This first picture was of a yard in the neighorhood. It had some cute sayings on each of the tombstones. They were so funny.
Here are 3 of our grandkids. It was so hard to get all of them together because the boys don't really care to have their picture taken. But we were able to coax them to get this one. Look at those reflective arm bands they even glowed with just the flash of the camera.

This last picture is of our oldest granddaughter. She will always pose for a picture.

Hope you enjoyed looking at these pictures as much as I enjoyed sharing them.
Have a wonderful day and I hope to have something to share with you tomorrow.
Liz
