Dare to be Fabulous!

Good Afternoon! Hope you all are having a fabulous weekend. We decided to make today a relaxing day and just kick back. I just thought I would get in a little crafting before my husband got up this morning, but I am just now getting it posted. I am late in getting to the challenge over at Papertrey Posse. We were challenged to use our favorites and whatever project we would like to do. I had a hard time deciding since there are so many things that are my favorite. I decided to go with dies since I actually do love them. They sure do make alot of things easier in crafting. I also did some heat embossing which I am starting to really like it.

I started our with Select White for my base. I love the look of the cut borders with the dies. I used the Victorian Lace border die to achieve the look. Since it actually cut it away from the CS, to attach it to the card I taped it and then used some scor-tape to attach my ribbon above it. I use the Limitless Layers 2 1/2 die for my background of my flower with the Royal Velvet. I cut a doily with Select White. (I love these!) I found that the points of this doily fit in every other point of the Limitless layer. I wanted to have a varigated flower so I cut several with the Beautiful Blooms #2 in the largest and smallest. I made the flower with the largest first and then I tucked the smaller one inside. The sentiment is from Big Bold wishes. I stamped it with versamark in black and using clear embossing powder. While it was still warm I sprinkled some Prisma glitter to give it some sparkle. It sure is hard to photograph, plus it just gives it hint of glitter. The colors I used were Raspberry Fizz and Royal Velvet. The leaves were cut with Delightful Dahlia leaves from Spring Moss CS and stamped with Ripe Avacado.

Have a great rest of the weekend,

Papertrey February Blog Hop Challenge

Happy Friday!! It is time for another PTI blog hop. I almost forgot about it. For some reason I keep thinking it is on the 26th. I would like to first wish my granddaughter MacKenzie a very Happy 2nd Birthday! Hope you have a wonderful day little one! Love and miss you!
I made a very CAS project for this one. I needed some note cards and scallops were perfect for what I wanted. I couldn't decide on a color so I just started pulling different color CS and started cutting scallops with my Md. Scallop border die. I found that the smaller buttons in the Button Boutique set fits perfectly in each one. I stamped it in versamark and then clear embossed them. I love how it turned out. I then took Swiss Dot Satin each color and wrapped it around my card and tied a knot. The tag is the jar label die stamped with a sentiment from Signature Series: Dress Form. I just may have to make one in each of the PTI colors.
Here are my note cards:

Easter Wishes...

Good Morning! I know that Easter is a little bit away but it came to mind when I saw Betsy Veldman's blog on how she used the Favor-it boxes. I have the Favor-it #2 and of course an Easter basket came to mind. Then I saw NIchole's challenge this week for the Make it Monday was to use scor tape with glitter. Then those glittery eggs popped in my head. This is what I came up with. It didn't turn out exactly what I had in my mind but then it rarely does.
Have a wonderful day,
Liz
Supplies:
Stamps: Daily Designs for the little chick, Tiny Treat: Valentine for the bunny, It's a celebration for the tag, Mega Mixed Messages for the sentiment
Paper: Select White, New Leaf, and various colors for the eggs and pattern papers, Su! Creamy Caramel for the basket

2nd Birthday

Hello.I have a granddaughter who is turning 2 on Friday. I finally am at the last of my birthdays for this month. I guess my kids sure didn't like the idea of me having the month to myself since they gave me four of my nine grandkids this month also with one just a few hours after mine. That is okay I don't mind, it just keeps me busy, which is a good thing, right?
I just love this new big cuppcake die from Papertrey Ink. I started out with Select White CS and I ran the top layer through my sticker machine and then used white fun flock to give it a soft feel and maybe look something like icing. I know it is hard to see in the picture. I used some pattern paper from PTI (when they had the 6X6 packs) Pink Patterns to cut the cupcake holder. I also used some paper from the same selection to glue onto chipboard and used the By the Numbers to cut out my 2. The lace is some I had bought from Joann Fabrics. I also wanted a little bling so I decided to use gems on the scallops and my banner with the sentiment. The two is on a pice of Spring Moss CS that is also distressed with Spring Moss ink and it is cut with the 1 1/4 Limitless Labels. The button is Melon Berry tied with embroidery floss.
That is all I have for today.
Hope you have a wonderful day,
As always thank you for stopping by and having a look at what I do,

Have a wonderful day!

Good Morning!! It is a rainy, dreary, morning here in Southern California. We are suppose to have rain the rest of the week. Where is Spring? I know our weather isn't nearly as bad as some of you have had, so you are probably wondering why I would say that. I am an outdoors person and I so want to start working in the flower beds of the backyard.
I made this card for the new weekly challenges over at Papertrey Ink. The challenge was to put your sentiment on vellum. I have been wanting to make one of these flowers so I thought about putting the sentiment on the stem of the flower. I made the flower first by ironing some material onto freezer paper. I used PTI Beautiful Blossoms #2 to cut our several of the flowers and then layered them and sewed a Orange Zest button on top with some thread. I just fluffed the edges up some. The sentiment was stamped onto a strip of vellum cut out with the XL Rickrack die with versamark first on my stamp and then New Leaf ink and then I heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. I distressed the edges with some ink as well. The sentiment is from Out of the Box. The base of my card is Vintage Cream distressed with Vintage Cream ink and Orange Zest. The mat is Vintage Cream distressed with Orange Zest and the corners punched with SU! ticket corner punch. The second mat is Hawaiian Shores and distressed with Vintage Cream. I then put a strip of score tape (1/8) and used Prisma glitter.

PTI Make It Monday

Good Morning!! I have another birthday card for you today. I have another Grandson's whose birthday is today. Whew... half over for this month. This is a busy month for birthday for us. With four grandkids and my own this month it has really kept me busy. Not to mention extended family memebers that are also this month. When I saw the challenge at PTI for the Make It Monday, I realized why I have waited to make this card. It has been mailed and hopefully he has it in his hands. Love and miss you T. Happy Birthday and have a wonderful day!!!!!

I started out with my base card with Blueberry Sky (Love this colot). I used Summer Sunrise for most of my sentiments but wanted one main birthday wish to stand out so I used True Black. I distressed the edges of my Harvest Gold and Select White with my fingernail. He loves cars (like his father) so I knew I wanted to use Enjoy the Ride bug. I colored it with copic. It is really dark in the picture. It is R59 and R 89 with a touch of V99 for some shadowing. I mounted it on Mat Stack 2 die and used eyelets and strung some embroidery floss through them. The actual stamps that I used were: Enjoy the Ride, Butterfly Kisses, Men of Life, Cupcake Collection, Blooming Button Bits, Birthday Basics, Make a Wish Additions, Mat Stack 2.
That is about it for me today,
Have a wonderful day,
Thank you as always for stopping by and taking a look,

Just for You..... And a WINNER!!!

Good Morning! Hope your week is off to a good start. I have a little note card and a hat that I have been working on. I have crocheted for awhile now and had the itch to get back into it. I saw this hat pattern book and thought my granddaughters might like them. It was sure a lot easier than I thought it would be. I have also been seeing these yo-yos around blogland and wanted to give it a whirl. They were so easy and decided to add some to the hat.

This is the card that I made to write them a little note for when I get them sent off. I saw this challenge over at Verve Stamps but didn't get this posted in time to enter but that is okay I like how it turned out. I also put a yo-yo on the card as you can see.

Happy 1st Birthday!!!

Edit: I have a giveaway going on. You can find it
here.

Good Morning!! I have another birthday for you today! Our youngest grandson turns a year old today. I like to call him my birthday present from last year. I spent most of the day at the hospital waiting for him to be born. I was actually hoping he would actually be born on my birthday. I guess he wanted to have is own day and came into this world a little over four hours later. That is okay he is here and we love him and is so cute!!
We actually celebrated his birthday about a week and half ago. His dad is in the military and they were transferred and left last week to their new duty station.

My daughter asked me if I would make him a banner for his birthday party. This is what I came up with. She really liked what I did. Instead of it saying Happy Birthday she wanted his name, this way they can hang it on the wall in his room.

Here is a close up of a couple of the banners. He seems to be drawn to ducks so I had to add a couple on a few of the banners. After I was done making the banner I still needed to make him a card so I decided to make it to match the banner. Instead of putting a little in the circle I put "Happy 1st Birthday". I really liked how it turned out and will be making more.

Happy Birthday Garrett! Love and miss you! Grandpa and I hope that we will be able to make a trip to see you and your brothers before too long. Have a wonderful day!

Thanks for stopping by,
Liz

A Birthday and a Giveaway....

Happy Tuesday... It is my birthday!

This little one is actually me several years ago..... well 57 to be exact. Actually I think I was a couple of days old in this pic. I wanted to show you the announcement my dad made. But it seems that it is hiding somewhere. I know I just saw it not to long ago but now it isn't there but I found this pic which is the one he used. You would think being the 10th child it wouldn't be that exciting but I guess he was excited to have another girl. He didn't have any sisters himself and there were 5 boys.

Since it is my birthday and instead of me getting the gifts I would do a little giveaway to one of my readers. I am not asking you to do anything but to leave me a comment. It can be about whatever you want. You could even give me some advice about my blog. I will leave this open until Sunday evening and then announce the winner here on my blog Monday. Here is a pic of what I have to give away.

I would also like to wish my sister-in-law Beverly and niece Christina a very Happy Birthday.
Thank you to everyone who stops by,
Have a wonderful day,
Liz
