Wishing you....

Well, this is going to be a long weekend. Yeah! I have my hubby home for three days. We don't get to spend much time together during the week so weekends I really look forward to and especially the long ones. Anyone have special plans for this holiday weekend? We are going to spend tomorrow with my daughter's family and then we will see what happens after that.

Our neighbor's daughter graduated from High School this week. We have know her through her high school years and I wanted to do a little something for her.

Since the school colors are black and gold I started out with my base card of True Black. I used Summer Sunrise for one of my layers. The white is Stamper's Select and I embossed it with the new linen Impression Plate. I stamped the sentiment from For the Graduated. I used Labels 4, and stamped it with the image also from For the Graduate. I used Summer Sunrise ink but it looks more like a light yellow. I was able to use the cap and stamp over the hat image in black. I ran a Quickie Glue pen over the stars and then used some yellow glitter from Sugar Coated. I also ran the pen over the line in the sentiment and used some black glitter. I then used some True Black buttons with white embroidery floss. I also stamped the hat image on the front of the envelope and stamp 2010 in Summer Sunrise. For the inside of my envelope I stamped the hat image and the year on some Stamper's Select White and used the new envie die to cut it out. I don't have any of PTI's white envelopes yet so I had to cut the edges for my envelope.

I think that is about it for me today.

Have a wonder Memorial Day Weekend!!!

Papertrey May Blog Hop....

Wow!! Can you believe that it is time for May's bloghop already? Where is this year going?

I will keep this really simple because I know you want to get to everyone's blog to see what they have done. I know I want to see all of your creations.

I have been trying to think of something different that what I have seen done before. I am not that creative but I came up with a frame idea. I cut my frame out of Dk Chocolate Felt and used my Mega Curved rectangles to cut it out. Then I stamped Woodgrain stamp set in True Black to give it some texture look. I cut and stamped three of the Up,Up and Away Balloons and used my copics to color them. I just played around with different colors. Some of them I used two different colors together to make a different shade. I popped them up with dimensionals to make them look like they were floating. I used the cloud dies and distressed the edges with Spring Rain ink. The background is Spring Rain CS and I used the new linen impression plate for some testure there. The sentiment is also from Up, Up and Away. The buttons are from the Spring Moss Vintage buttons.

Looking forward to seeing all of your creations!!!

Thank you for stopping by and having a look!

Happy Birthday!!!

Hello, I can't believe that it has been so long since I have posted! Life just got away from me and never got around to posting this card. I have a step-granddaughter that just turned thirteen. Well this is a little strange because it is my step-son's step daughter' birthday. But I still make her and her sister cards because after all they are part of the family now. They are very sweet girls and let's face it I just love to do things for people.

I have to give credit to a few people for this card because I took inspiration from a few different blogs to put this one together. I am sorry but I can't remember all of them but if you browse the PTI designer blogs which if you are like me you will know who's blogs I got these ideas from.

All products are Papertrey Ink.

I started out with a piece of Spring Moss CS for the base of my card. Then I embossed the white CS with Picnic Plaid impression plate and traced a few of the lines with copics to go with the colored CS that I used. I used the medium scallop die and used Hibiscus Burst, Spring Moss and Plum pudding for the side borders. The ribbon is Plum Pudding statin that I actually made one bow and the wrapped the satin ribbon around the CS and put the one bow in the middle before tying another bowaround it. and used a white Vintage button and twine around the whole thing. The semtiment is from Delightful Dahlia and is stamped with Hibiscus Burst and then I used the egg die to cut it out. I distressed the edges with Hibiscus Burst also and popped it up.

Hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend!!

Thank you for stopping by and taking a look at my projects.

I haven't been so good lately about getting around and seeing everyone's blogs but hope to remedy that very soon!

Happy Mother's Day!!

*SPOILER ALERT*
My girls if you don't want to see your card before you receive it, don't go any further.

Good evening! Can you believe Mother's Day is on Sunday already. I make cards for my DDs and DILs. One of my daughters asked me why I made cards for them. I told that if it wasn't for them I wouldn't be a mother and they are mothers themselves and I love doing things for them.

I made all the cards the same but used different colors. I used YOF: Sweet Pea. I loved this set so much that when I saw the previews I went out and bought some seeds to grow my own. I bought seeds because I wanted the picture to give me ideas on how to color them. But would you know it I threw it away after I planted them, so I just went with it. I am not too patient so I wish I had just bought the plants to have the flowers right away. My plants have started to grow. Now I have to wait until they get big enough to bloom. I colored my Sweet Peas in PTI copic trio in Aqua Mist, Hibicus Burst, Summer Sunrise, and Plum Pudding. After coloring them I used my Nestabilities Mega Curved Rectangles. I used my two way glue pen and edged the edges with Prsma Glitter and popped them up with pop up dots. I used a black pen and ruler and outlined the edge and stamped my sentiment from Delightful Dahlia before finishing the bottom. I wasn't sure about the white on white but I do love how these turned out. Hope you do too! I took a close up pic so maybe you could see it better. Thanks for stopping by and taking a look and any comments you might leave.

Betsy Veldman's sketch callenge.

Good evening. How has the start of your week been? I am getting this up later than I had wanted to. I wasn't even sure if I would get it done but I am glad that I did. I had this card in mind since I saw this sketch. The colors weren't what I had originally thought of using, but I am happy with these colors.
I started out with Spring Rain for my main colors. The scallop punch is MS. I stamped Background Basics: Tin Type on a panel of Spring Rain in Raspberry Fizz and used Liquid Pearls in the centers. It shows up so much better in person.
I stamped the trees from Masculine Motifs in Vintage Tea Dye Duo Chai and also distressed all of the edges with the same ink. The sentiment was stamped with Smokey Shadow.
The button is from my stash which I used embroidery floss in the color to match Raspberry Fizz srung with pearls and beads from SU! Pretties kit.
Thank you for stopping by and leaving any comments you may have. They are so appreciated and welcomed.
Have a wonderful evening or day,
