Happy Birthday, Aaron!

Hi! Well it is time for another birthday card. My SIL birthday is today. We will be celebrating it along with my granddaughter who's birthday was on Wednesday the 24th. I showed her card on this post. We also have a DIL who is having a birthday tomorrow. Her card is on this post. She lives in another state otherwise we would be celebrating all 3 together.

I struggle with masculine cards. But actually I am pretty happy with how this one turned out. I usual seem to over think my cards. I need to sit back and relax and the come together that I can be satisfied with.

All products are PaperTrey Ink except for the border punch which is EK Success. It seems to be pretty self explanatory so I will not go into it. Of course if you have any questions, feel free to email me and I will do my best to answer.

Thank you for stopping by and having a look. Have a wonderful weekend!

Papertrey Ink March Blog Hop

Good evening!! It is hard to believe that it is time for another blog hop.

After seeing Nichole's clear cardstock card and a few others, I have been wanting to make one myself. This is what I came up with. Of course like everyone else I had to use the new Hawaiian Shores CS and Dawn's new set Delghtful Dahlia. I cut them out with the die cuts and embossed them with Filligree gold embossing powder. The picture doesn't seem to show how much shine there is to it. I also used the Botanicals BG set on my Dark Chocolate CS.

Here is the inside of the card.

I actually made this for my SIL who is going in for back surgery and I wanted to send her something since she will be down for quite some time.
I thought I would show you the inspiration for my card. I made her a lap quilt and couldn't believe some of the material that was in it was a match to Hawaiian Shores and Delightful Dahlia. I even made a label for the back of the quilt using Dawn's set. I have sewn it on yet because I still need to personalize it.
Have fun tonight blog hopping. I know I will. I love seeing what everyone has done.
I also wanted to thank everyone that has stopped by my blog and left such wonderful comments.

Happy Birthday, J!!!

Hello. Today is my granddaughters birthday and I just want to wish her a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! I still remember the day and she was born and being in the room and so excited about being a grandmother for the first time. It is a day I will never forget. She was the only one we had for over 7 years so we were really able to enjoy her. I can hardly believe that she is turning 14 today.

This is a card I made for her. I love these new fairy stamps that I am seeing around. I bought this one over at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. It is called Tree Fairy. It is hard to see in the picture but I did glitter up the wings with Prisma Glitter and Sugar Coated Glitter. She is colored using Copic Markers. It is pretty much a simple card but am somewhat satisfied with the way it turned out.

I am going to make this short today so I can get this posted.
Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by,
Liz

Hope you have a great day, J!! Love you!!

Two in One....

Hello, how was everyone's weekend? On Saturday we took a day trip to Big Bear with our daughter and her family. It was a fun day. Her two oldest were born in Alaska and they wanted to go play in the snow. It was fun to be able to toss some snow around with them. We took a walk down to the lake so they could play there also. We did a little shopping. On the way home we stopped for dinner. A fun filled day with family. On Sunday my husband and I just relaxed and watched a movie. That was nice also.
On to my card for today. I was able to get two challenges in one with this one. Lisa Johnson is having her second Poppy Seed Challange and Melissa Phillips had her inspirational picture challenge. I haven't played in this one yet so I was glad that I was able to join in on this one.
All of my supplies are from Papertrey Ink except for the corner punch. It seems that they are about the only products I use these day. I do use others once in a while.
Thank you for stopping by and having a look.

Just Because...

Good evening! How have everyone been doing? I didn't realize how long it has been since I have done any blogging. I have been busy with projects and other things that I needed to catch up on since I was gone for awhile last month. I am still not caught up but I was missing doing some paper projects. I made a simple card today. I haven't inked up my new Year of the Flowers: Violets set from PTI yet and was itching to. I tried something that I haven't done yet was to stamp on colored CS and then color it in. I stamped the Violet on PTI Lemon Tart with Smokey Shadow ink and then used my copics to color it in. I love how it turned out. I would love to hear what you think.

The size of this card is 4 X 4 1/4. I like this size for a note card. I think I will make a few more of these with different sentiments for a set to give as a gift for a friend of mine that is having a birthday in a couple of weeks.

I will leave you with the details of the supplies I used.

Have a wonderful evening or day depending on when you are reading this.
Thank you for stopping by!

Compose a Card Challenge #6

Hello and thank you for stopping by my blog today. I have another challenge card for you today. It is for Becky Oehler's at PTI. I love her challenges. She has everything for you layout wise. All you have to do is come up with a design for that layout. How easy can that be? For me she has done the hard part. She even gives you a page you can print out and have in your library. That to me is a wonderful idea and I will have them for future references. Here is the card I came up with for this challenge. I love these colors and am sure to do more cards with this color scheme. I know I don't use Soft Stone enough. Thank you Becky for using this in a challenge so I had to pull it out and use it. I couldn't leave the corner alone and had to had something so I embossed a small butterfly from Butterfly Dreams onto Enchanted Evening CS and cut it out.
I will leave you with my supply list.
Have a wonderful day,
Liz

Spring is in the Air

I can't believe that I have actually been able to post the last few days. I told myself I needed to organize my craft room and get it cleaned up. But, it is more fun to create than clean. I received my Butterfly Dreams stamp set and the new butterfly die today, so I had to do something with them, right? I used the color challenge from Nichole's blog to create this card. I used Heather Nichole's colors and a layout that Mish had on her blog, but I did change a couple of things.

I don't really have a whole lot to say so I will leave you with my recipe for this card.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful week so far.
Thank you so much for stopping by!
Liz

Shaker Box

Happy Tuesday!! How is everyone's week going so far?
I been wanting to make one of these Shaker Boxes since I got the template but haven't taken the time. I needed a gift package for one of my SIL's and decided this would be the perfect opportunity to give it a try.It took me a little time but well worth it. I just wanted to take my time and had the instructions right in from of me the whole time.It wasn't hard. I just wanted to make sure I got it right. I love how it turned out. Next time I need to make all three sizes. This is the larger of them. I don't have a cutting program so I had to cut it our by hand.
I printed my template onto PTI Rustic Cream CS and then I distressed the edges with Dark Chocolate. The brads are some I had in my stash. The lining of the box is K & Company Life's Journey. The birds are also K & Company. They are dimensional. She likes birds so I wanted to add them. I am happy with the way this turned out. I know I will make more of these boxes.

Thank you stopping by and taking a look.
Have a wonderful evening or morning depending on where you are.
