Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge...

Hi everyone! I finally was able to get time to do some challenges. This first one is for Waltzingmouse Stamps. It is their first anniversary. There is a release tomorrow May 1st.
She is giving away this month's release (which is eight stamps). You do not need to use one of her stamps but she would really love it if you do. My daughter gave me one for my birthday, so that is the only one I have at the moment. The stamp set I used is called Faux Fun. I used one of the images for the background on the main card. I used another for the circle on the upper left corner. I actually used my nesties to cut a circle in the front of the card so when you open it the sentiment is on the inside. I used PTI's Signature Greetings for my sentiment. I used a rub on for the scroll under it.The large rose and smaller ones I had in my stash. I used some gold liquid pearls on the scallops and on the dots in the image. The papers I used are PTI Pure Poppy and Vintage Cream. Oh, the size of this card is 4X4. It is a fun size.
Thank you for stopping by and for any comments you might leave.
Have a wonderful weekend!

April PTI Bloghop!!

Wow!! Can you believe it is already that time of month? I love these blog hops! Seeing what each of you create is so much fun. You are all so talented and so much inspiration to be had.

Since this month challenge was to use tissue paper. I immediatel thought of flowers and used my Beautiful Blooms II #2 die to cut several ( I believe I did four) of each size with the tissue that our stamps come so neatly wrapped in each month. I then used Sweet Blush, Hibiscus Burst and Raspberry Fizz ink and sponge to color them the color I wanted for my flower. I scrunched the tissue up before I sponged them. It didn't quite turn out like I was thinking but I like it anyway.
I will keep this short so you can get onto other blogs and leave you with what supplies I used.
Thank you for stopping by and for leaving any comments you might have.
Have fun tonight!

Make a Wish

Hi there! Boy am I glad it is the weekend. It has been a long week for me. Don't have a plans for the weekend but the hubby is home.

I saw a blog that a punch was used to make a tulip. I don't have that punch but I went looking through my PTI stamps and found an image in Take a Bough that I thought would work. I stamped it in Summer Sunrise, cut it out and distressed the edges with Orange Zest. The stem and leaves are from Wishing You along with the sentiment stamped using New Leaf. I used Nestability Labels five for the layers. The background is Cuttlebug Embossing Folder Textile. I used Lemon Tart for my layers with Select White. The punch is from SU! and the brads were in my stash.

Nothing new here so I will just thank everyone that stops by and also leaves a comment. They are always appreciated.

Have a wonderful weekend!

You'll be greatly missed, Stormy!

Hello!! It seems like it has been forever since I have done any blogging. I have been trying to organize and do some spring cleaning in my craft room so I haven't done anything for awhile. My oldest daughter asked me to come over so we could do some crafting together. I wasn't sure what I was going to work on and then I received a call from my second daughter telling me of the loss of their family pet. She is the Chocolate Lab in the above picture taken a couple years ago. She was a wonderful dog. She actually felt like one of our grandkids. It was like she knew whenever we came over because she would always run to the patio door with her toy in her mouth waiting for us to come out and play with her. My husband and I would take turns playing with her. Of course I would get tired before she did and then I would go in and play with the three boys. Of course one is only two months old so I would hold him as much as I could.
Stormy was a wonderful pet and not that but part of the family. They recscued her a few years ago in Alaska at a Labrador rescue and brought her her to California with them. It is so strange because she was so lively on Easter Sunday when we were there and then all of a sudden she got sick and wouldn't eat. They took her to the vet the other day and they wanted to keep her a couple days because she didn't give them any sign of what was wrong and they wanted to run test. On the way home my daughter got a call and said that she went into convulsions and they couldn't save her. They found later that she had severe kidney failure. The vet doesn't understand because they figure she was only about 5 years old.
Stormy, you will so greatly missed!! RIP !
Thank you for stopping by today,
Liz

Birthday wishes.....

Hello. How was everyone's weekend?

I made this card for Becky Ohlers' Compose a Card Challenge. I was sure if I liked how this card turned out at first but then I added a couple of things and am pleased with it. I decided to give it to my mother, she turned 92 today. She was happy with it. She survived lung cancer and also double pneumonia within a year of each and that was 6 years ago. She still gets around pretty good. Sometimes I tell her that she is in better shape than me and I am her care giver, she lives with me. She has to have some stong genes, you see I am the youngest of 10 children. Things were a whole lot different when I was young than it is now. My husband is from the midwest and I was raised in California and he teases me about having more of a farm life than he did when he was young. One of the things that gets most people is when I tell them I had a pet calf. Actually before I was born my dad and mom and older brothers and sisters built the house that I grew up in. It was great!

The base CS looks black but it is Dark Chocolate. I used some PP from Dk Chocolate Remix and took my Ripe Avacado Copic Marker Trio to color the butterflies and left the polka dots cream.

I will leave you with my supplies so I can get this posted.

Have a wonderful day and stopping by to have a look! It means alot to me.

I Just Love you!

Hi, I have had this card in my head for a couple of days now, so I decided to make it. I was watching Dancing with the Stars the other night and when they were do some interviews with the stars I noticed the wallpaper and thought it looked similar to Beautiful Blooms II so that is where I got my inspiration. I used the smallest flower and stamped it in True Black. The leaves are from Turning a New Leaf. I made this card for my husband. He has surprised me with some flowers and cards lately especially when he knows I have had a bad day. He works nights so he leaves them either on my nightstand or downstairs so I see them when I get up. I wanted to show him how much I appreciate him so this card will be waiting for him when he gets home early in the morning.

I will just leave you with the supplies that I used. All are Papertry Ink except for the MS border punch.

Supplies:
Stamps: Beautiful Blooms II, Delightful Dahlia for the sentiment, Turning a New Leaf
Paper: True Black, Pure Poppy, Stamper's Select White
Access: Ribbon, Pure Poppy Vintage Button, Button Twine, MS Border Punch
Thank you for stopping by and taking a look. I appreciate each and every one of you!

Celebrate your day!

Happy Friday! Can you believe that it is already April? I can hardly believe how fast this year is going already.

I decided to take a break from some of my sewing projects and make a card. I so need to organize my craft room but can't make myself do it. That has to be my next project!

I have a friend who's birthday is next week and decided to make her this card. It is pretty much an easy layout. I used my nesties for the main focus with the sentiment. I used Nichole's technique and used my 2 way glue pen to go around the edge and used some Prisma Glitter. I love that little extra sparkle. The flower I used my Marvy small flower punch and punched about 5 out and crinkled them up and then straightened them out some and pierced a whole in the middle and used a brad to hold them together and then squrenched the petals up some. The sentiment is from Signature Greetings. I just love Dawn's handwriting and it seems to give it a little more personal touch. I used New Leaf CS for my background. The PP triangles is from Green Tea Leaves collection. I used some pearl stickers under the sentiment. I also did some stitching around the triangles.

Have a wonderful weekend and a very Happy Easter!
Thank you so much for stopping by and taking a look!
