Tribute to Grandma B.

Posted by Picasa

Hello again!!Eventhough I haven't blogged but I did get a few things done and so I am back with a project I did a little while back with my daughter. She saw a project like this awhile ago and was starting to make one using Martha Stewarts doilies. When I saw it I remembered my dad had given me quite a few years ago a tin full of buttons that were my Grandmother's. I didn't want to use them but didn't know exactly what I wanted to do with them so a lightbulb came to mind and then my daughter and I got together and used some of the buttons so that way we can look at them every day. I just used a random source of supplies. My daughter started hers in pink, brown and white which are the colors of her craftroom. It is quite striking and I love the colors. There were enough pink and white buttons for her to use. We just made sure that there was at least one button in each doily.

Thanks for stopping by and having a look,
Have a wonderful weekend,
Liz

What a neat little project! I love it. It's very cool that you were able to use buttons that belonged to your grandmother..how neat is that?

Oh, Liz...this is gorgeous! I just love that you used family heirlooms, it will make it something to hand down from generation to generation. So sweet!

Yours is awesome. I love all the colors and images you used. Is that a fabric flower? I would LOVE to make one with Great Grandmas buttons too. Does she have enough purple? :D

Oh Liz this definitely is a labour of love! I clicked on the picture to enlarge and have been staring at all the details you included with the buttons. Beautiful piece of craftsmanship! Such a great tribute to your grandmother and even more special that you worked on the frames with your daughter!
