Flowers for you!

Hello!! Hope everyones weekend has been a good one so far. I have really done a whole lot but did get a few things accomplished. Not so much in the craft area but other things that needed to be done.

We washed our vehicles last night because it is so hot during the day that you can't get outside to do anything. Then this morning I was really smelling the fires that we have going on here in California. I am sitting out on the patio and noticed that ashes are flying around. We are quite a few miles away but we do have some breezes blowing and that probably is what is bringing the ashes. The fires just seem to be getting bigger and bigger and I read that it they are threatening more homes and 1,000s are being evacuted. I hope the weather starts cooling soon and the firemen can get an upper hand on them.

Now onto the card. This is for my youngest daughter. She is a girly girl. In fact when she was younger I always called her a tomboy. She was right out there ready to do all of things that boys would do. In fact I told her that if I didn't have my son after her she would have been like having a boy. I embossed the background with a cuttlebug folder because it looked like sticks to me. Maybe it will remind her of their hunting shack with the window that shows the flowers in a vase on the inside of the card. Yes, she is a hunter, she has gotten a few deer. I am sure she will be out there again this year. She didn't last year because she was pregnant. She does have a couple of mounts of the antlers in her home that are from the ones she has gotten.

The flowers are from PTI's Autumn Abundance. I love this set. You can color them in so many ways and never tire of it.
The ribbon is PTI's saddle ribbon that I drew up by pulling on the white like you would for a ruffle. I think it gives it a different look and texture. I saw it on Lisa Johnson's blog and thought I would give it a try.

They are colored with copic markers. Her favorite color is green (I think any shade). The vase seems to match the colors in her home.
Happy Birthday Carrie! I know it isn't until next Sunday but I am finally a little ahead and since it has to go in the mail, I don't want it to be late. Hope you have a good one and hope to be seeing and the family very soon!!
Thank you for stopping by today!!
Have a good one,
Liz

A Gift for the Teacher.....

Good Evening everyone!!

Lauren Meader is having a challenge this week to use one of her tamplate and have a school theme. Since I don't have any school age kids, I decided to do this one and make it a gift for the teacher. I hope this qualifies.

I went together so easy and so much fun to make. I could give this to one of my grandkids so they could give it to their teacher, or I could take the tag off and put it in my living room since those are the colors I have there. :)

I used PTI's Pure Poppy for the base. The pattern paper is some that I had in my stash. The flowers I crocheted. I used Pure Poppy Saddle Ribbon for the handle and used brads to attach it to each side. I used a gem flourish for a little extra touch. The A+ brad was in some school supplies that I had won on a blog.

That is about it for this post. Have a great evening! See you tomorrow.
Thank you for stopping by and having a look,

RSCC #15

Wow!! Can you believe it is Wednesday already? Where does the time go? I guess it is like the old saying the older you get the faster time goes. Well that seems to be the way things are going for me lately. I have so many things to get done. Since it is almost September it seems it is never stop on the birthdays for several months. Plus a new grandbaby on the way to get many things done for. This time our daughter doesn't want to know the sex until the baby arrives is exciting in itself but I like to make things that are gender specific so it will be a little difficult but I'll figure things out.
Well on to the card I made for this challenge. I loved the colors and had this idea running through my head for a few days and finally was able to sit down and put it together. Of course it is a little different than I pictured but I think that is how it usually works for me. The colors I used we Melon Berry, Vintage Cream (which to me looks white in the picture but it really is Vintage cream), Spring Moss and Hibiscus Burst. I added a vellum flower behind each flower for a little extra. Hope it works for the challenge.

I think that is it for today. Have a good one.
Thanks for stopping by and looking!

August Papertrey Blog Hop!!

Good Evening everyone!! Another exciting Blog Hop. I can hardly wait to see what everyone has done.

Since I have lived in So. California all my life I haven't really been able to see all the changes of the different seasons. Since I married my husband and he is from Kansas, so with the trips to see family in the midwest I have been able to see some of these changes.

When I think of fall (or Autumn) I think of the changes in temperatures not colors. I remember the pumpkin patches always having the tall wheat stalks and pumpkins around them and a few scarecrows. So I was looking through my craft room and found a few of these wheat stalks that they put in flower arrangements and that is what I went with.

I used a glitter pen to add a little sparkle on the flourishes. I just love these pumpkins. The leaf in the corner I did a rock-n-roll effect with SU! Pumpkin Pie and Papertrey New Leaf around the edges. I like how the effect looked like leaf was changing colors.

Have a great evening and am looking forward to seeing everyone's creations.

Celebrate

It's Tuesday, hope your week is off to a good start!!

I have been having a little difficult getting things done on time lately, but I was able to get this card done in time to get it in the mail. My step-son and his wife will be celebrating theri 1st anniversary on Sunday. Since they live in Kansas it should reach them in time. I hope they like it.

I finally pulled out my sewing machine that I don't seem to do enough and stitched
around the outer edges. I sure need to do this more often. I used PTI's Autumn Abundance for the Sunflowers. I colored it with copics. I decided to use my glitter pen and put some on the flowers. The pitcher I used Ranger Crackle to make it a little like an antique, but it is hard to see in the picture.

Have a great day
Thanks for checking in today!

Enjoy the ride

Happy Monday!! How was everyone's weekend. They just go by way to fast for me.

Yesterday my husband and I went for a ride (which we don't get to do often enough). No where planned just got out and rode. We went on back roads, mountain roads, winding roads and highways. I made this card awhile back and thought it went with what we did yesterday. Well sort of.. since it wasn't a bicycle but a motorcycle we were on. It was so nice to get out and fell free and enjoy the nice weather and just notice what was around us.
This card is using PTI's Everyday Button Bits. I used the bicycle in the set and made it into a bicycle built for two. I just masked each in off for where I wanted to stamp the piece to make it look like a bicycle built for two. I drew in the chain to link that together. The sidewalk I just drew diagonals on a slant and used a copic so it would have a look more like cement. I used three different sets for the sentiment, Simple Alphabet, Fresh Alphabet, and the sentiment from Everyday Button Bits.
To me it is a very simple and plain card but I thought it would go with our ride we had yesterday. Just enjoying the time together.

That is about it for today. Have a great day!!

Chloe

Hello everyone!! It's Friday, Yah!! It would be better if it was Saturday but it is still a good thing. Now if it would only cool down a bit more.

We are still in the high 90's which is better than the triple digits we have been having. But living in the desert what can you do. Now onto a card I made.

This week was a more productive week in the craft room. I am happy about that.

I just received some new stamps in the mail the other day and of course I needed to ink at least one of them up. This is Chloe that I got from The Greeting Farm. Isn't she just adorable. I love her hair. She was so fun to color. I decided what better to do and use her for a couple of challenges. The first one is Lauren Meader's color challenge and then Whimsy stamps wanted you to use ribbons. I love ribbon and when I saw that Chloe had a bow in her hair, I thought that would be a perfect place to put a ribbon. I miss doing little girls hair. I had three daughters and loved do things with their hair.

Have a wonderful day and a great weekend!!
Thank you for stopping in and taking a look,

Would you like and ice cream?

Hello,

I made this card for two challenges: Friday Sketchers and Stampin' Sisters of Christ which was a food or drink theme. It was fun putting these together.

I made the background paper using my Borders and Corner Circles from Papertrey. I used used different sizes and different colors randomly. I have alway been wanting to do something like this. The ice cream cone I made by cutting a triangle with Creamy Caramel from Stampin UP! and scored it with my scor-pal. The ice cream I used Papertrey's Cupcake Collections stamped in Smokey Grey. I used liquid applique and let it dry on it own to give it more like a soft cone look. I am pretty pleased with how this turned out.

I wish I had more of an exciting life to blog about but right now it is pretty boring. Hope you have a wonderful day!!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look,

With Sympathy

Wow, can you believe it is the middle of the week already? Hope everyones week is going good so far.

I had another project planned but I got some news and it took a backseat to make this card. A friend of mine lost her brother in terrible tragedy. I knew I needed to make her a card right away. I used some PP that I had in my stash and since it already had flowers I didn't want to use anything else with it. I used Marvy oval punches and used PTI' Mega Messages for the sentiment and it is hard to see in the picture but I used PTI's With Sympathy to add a little background to the white oval. The ink I used was PTI's Lemon Tart and Ocean Tides. The ribbon is also PTI Ocean Tides. I used a gold pen to add the dots around the maroon oval, then some rhinestones to add something to the corners.

I sure hope it helps her and she likes it.

New Storage...

well, not quite yet.

Hello Everyone!! How is everyone's week going so far?

Look at what my hubby built for me over the weekend! Isn't it great! Now it needs to get painted and a handle put on the drawer. He loves to build things. He has built a few pieces of furniture that is in our house and our kids. Sometimes he hates it when I start looking through magazines and see a piece of furniture that I like. I just found a couple more this last weekend and he told me to just tear the picture out and he will put it with the others. I just love the things he makes because sometimes we change things a little so they are pretty much a one of a kind. I do have more copics to go in it. I just wanted to put a few in so you can see what I will be using it for. I will post a picture when it is finished.

I was hoping that I would have a project of my own to show you but it isn't done yet. I hope I can get in my craft room tomorrow and get a few things done.

Have a wonderful night and I will see you tomorrow.
Thanks for stopping by!

The First Day of School

Hello!! I was finally able to get in my craft room and get this card finished. Our second grandchild is starting school tomorrow. Where does the time go! I can still remember the day he was born. It was in Alaska and the middle of winter. Very cold but it was an exciting time. Because then I had one granddaughter and grandson and now many more. I wanted to have this done so he would have it before he started off on this new adventure. I wish I could be there with you Cody when you head out to spread your independence. Sorry, Melissa I know it is going to be a little of a rough day for you. I think I went through it with each one of you. But it was a very exciting time!

I used PTI's Pure Poppy for the card base because that is his favorite color. A boy after my own heart. It is my favorite also. The writing paper I made myself. I stamped it with PTI's Journeling Lines and Faux Ribbon for the red line. The punch is from Stampin' Up! I wrote his name myself and the little sentiment by the bookworm. He had to have a gold star right? I punched it with a Marvy punch using gold paper. The worm is colored with Kooh-i-nor pencils. The rest of the supplies I won over at Moxie Fab World. I just thought those brads were perfect for school. I like th number 6 in the PP, it was already there and I just colored it in to make it darker (he will be 6 in a few months). Yes, Melissa they do grow up and faster than you would like them to. Look at you kids. ;) I can hardly believe that you guys are grown-up with kids of your own. But it has been a fun adventure and a lot of great memories!!

Cody, I am sorry that this is going to be late. I do hope you have a great day!! You will make everyone proud!! You are growing into such a fine boy and know you will go far. I think I had better go now before I start crying here myself.

Thanks for stopping by!!! Hope you have a few more projects for you. I have so many things going through my head right now.

Your so appreciated!!!

I have a very somple card for you tonight. It took me two sessions to even get this card done tonight. I haven't been feeling very well the last few days. My husband stayed home from work last night (he works the night shift) to help me gets some things done and take care of me, he also attended to my mother's needs to give me a break and the needed rest. He couldn't stay home tonight so I have been muddling through. I wanted to make him a card to let him know how much he means and appreciated by me. I wanted to let him know besides just telling him. Since he comes home in the middle of the night I wanted to have this waiting for him when he came in. I think it will surprise him.

I started with PTI's Kraft CS. Then with PTI's Vintage Cream CS, I ran it throught the cuttlebug with the Ayrgle embossing folder. I took a Dew Drops Versa Magic ink pad and tapped over it lightly to add a little color. The ribbon is also PTI Ocean Tides and Vintage Cream. The sentiment is from PTI's Mega Mixed Messages. Look at those rhinestones. I won them over at Live, Love, Laugh and Create. The color is Island Lagoon. Aren't the gorgeous!! Thank you Lorie!!

I need to make this short tonight.

Sitting here..

Hello everyone. I hope everyone is off to a good start this week. I had planned to get in the craft room this last weekend but of course things didn't go as planned. Then yesterday I thought I would have the afternoon to do some crafting but I started feeling sick after making this one card and then I didn't get anything else done. It was a rough rest of the day and night. I am hoping that is the end of it. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Now on to this card. I just love this little girl. I have from the first I saw her. Everytime I went buy her they were out of stock. Then for Mother's Day my daughter gave her to me. I guess she was better at finding her in stock than I was. LOL!!

I just love coloring her with my copics. There is so many combinations that you can do. I don't think I will ever get tired of her. The colors just came together. I think I was thinking of fall and this is what I came up with.

I used PTI In Bloom PP and another PP that I had in my stash. The ribbon is PTI Ripe Avacado and Summer Sunrise. The flower is one I made with a brad from SU! I used my octogon nestabilities. The sentiment is from PTI On My Couch Additions.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.
Have a great day!!

I Chair-ish your Friendship

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend so far.

I am not sure what frame of mind I am in these days but I needed to try and create a few things and see if I could divert things a little.

This card is for Whimsy Stamps challenge. I just love this set from PTI "On My Couch". I used the chair because of the sentiment which was the challenge to make a friend card. You can always use a friend, right?

The card ended up being a 4 X 4 card. I paper pieced the chair with some PP I had in my stash and went with the colors that were in it. I colored the legs of the chair using a copic. The CS is Pure Poppy and Spring Moss from PTI. The ribbon is also Spring Moss. I tied the middle with Button Twine from PTI for a little extra interest. The border punch is from Martha Stewart. I believe the card base itself is from SU!!

Thank you for stopping by and taking a look,

Have a great rest of your weekend,

Another Challenge !!

Hello, everyone!! I know I haven't blogged much this week. I haven't really been in the creative mood the last few days.
I decided I needed to try and get a few things done this week. I also wanted to do one of Lauren Meader's over at My Time, My Creations, My Stampendence. This was an interesting sketch to me. I needed a card or two to send out to let someone know that we are thinking of them in their time of trials.
This is a very simple card. I love this image of Lilacs in a pitcher, purchased from Ellen Hutson's store.

Supplies:
Paper-PTI select white, PTI Lavender Moon, PP from SU!
Stamps- Lilacs in Pitcher
Ink- PTI Smokey Shadow, Versa Mark Dazzle Champaign
Accessories- copics, Ranger Glossy effects, FunFlock, PTI Lavender Moon Polka Dot ribbon, Prima flowers, butterfly charm

Happy Anniversary Jason & Melissa!

*Spoiler Alert* If you haven't received your card and don't want to see it now, don't go any further!!

Happy Monday everyone!!

Today is our daughter Melissa and her husband Jason's anniversary. I made this card for them. I used PTI In bloom flower. I stamped three and then embossed them with white embossing powder. I used Enchanted Evening reinker and drops a few drops and it wasn't working like I had hoped but then took a paper towel and wiped it off and I liked how it turned out. I cut them in sections and used dimensionals to layer it and then used my ink pad and went around the edges to give it a little more dimension. I used a glue pen and randomly put some on the petals and used Prisma glitter to give it a little sparkle. I layered it on white CS and layered with Summer Sunrise and Enchanted Evening. Used the ticket punch from SU! for the corners and the sentiment is also fromm SU! warmest regards. The sicker gems are some I had in my stash. I sponged around the edges of the card with Enchanted Evening.

Hope it is a great one!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Have a great day!

Whimsy Challenge

Happy Sunday everyone!! I actually feel like I got a few things accomplished this weekend. I made this card for the Whimsy challenge. I just love this image from Sarah Kay. She is so fun to color and with so many options.

I spent last night with my husband. We watched the Fast and Furious. It was a pretty good movie. When I was younger I was into racing. I grew up mostly with brothers and they liked going to the track and racing on a quarter mile track. I was always under the car with them and also enjoyed the muscle cars as they say. I raced a few races myself and actually had a chance to go professionally. I almost did but things didn't work as I would have. I still like to look and wouldn't mind getting behind of a muscle car. I guess it never gets out of your blood.

Back to the card. This was a scetch challenge. With this one I had colored this little girl with my copics and then built the sketch and colors around her. When I colored the dress and bonnet I thought of this velvet ribbon from SU! I have had it for awhile now. The paper is from Basic Grey, Urban Prarie (I believe). The sticker gems I got from Michael's awhile back. I need to start using some things that I seem to hoard or put away and then forget that I have.

Hope everyone has a great day!!

Raspberry Suite Challenge #13

Hello everyone!! I hope everyone's weekend is off to a good start.

This card is for a challenge. I love challenge, they give me a head start on what I am going to do.

It is a bitter sweet card since I made it with my MIL in mind. She found out a couple of weeks ago that she had lung cancer and had to go through a procedure that would be risky for her. She made it through that to find out a few days ago that her cancer was incurable and was the aggressive kind. It has already spread to her liver. She is in good spirit and says the Lord is who she is depending on now to get her through the chemo and anything else she might have to endure. She also says that she has people praying for her and we sure could use all that she can get right now. She goes next week for a catscan to see how much it has spread and how aggressively they need to treat the cancer. Hopefully to get her into remission for a very long time. I don't usually put things out there like this, but this is something that I needed to talk about.

Now, on to the card. I made this for Dawn's McVey's color challenge. She has some good color choices and it makes you think how you can put the colors together. These colors are PTI Berry Sorbet, Pure Poppy, Spring Moss and White. I crocheted the flowers with DMC floss to match the pure poppy color and also stamped the Fancy Flourish in Pure Poppy On Berry Sorbet CS. The scallop border is Martha Stewart and I put tiny pearls on each scallop. I also used the pure poppy floss for in between the two colors. The buttons are from the Spring Moss Vintage buttons and ties with spring moss floss. The sentiment is from Everyday Blessings stamped in Berry Sorbet. I thought is was perfect to let her know that she is in our prayers.

Thank you for stopping by today!!
Have a good one,
