4th Birthday!

I just wanted to stop in real quick to show you a tag/card I made for our granddaughter. Today is her birthday. I needed a tag for her present but I didn't want to make it too bulky since I had to mail it. I decided since it was big enough that I would also make it a card also. I also made it so she could hang it if she liked. It is pretty self explanatory and all products are PTI except for the pattern paper which I had in my stash.

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day,

PTI Make It Monday #24

Happy Friday!! I ws out shopping a few days ago and say the color combination of pink, grey, black and white. I knew I wanted to do something with it but wasn't quite sure just yet, so I sat on it. Then I found out the my sister and her granddaughter both were diagnosed with cancer (two different kinds). So I decided I needed to make them a card. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do then I saw the Make It Monday on the Papertrey Ink blog and decided to do something with it. I liked the idea of the dry brushing and did it on the edges for some softness.
Here is a picture of both cards together. I didn't want to do the same color scheme so I went with the colors for each of the cancers they each had.

Here is a close up of one of the cards up close:

Belated Birthday

Hello! I have been so bad in keeping up with my blog but life has just taken over and crafting hasn't been much of a priority. Last week was one of my BIL's birthday. My husband's family isn't much on sending out cards to each other so I was certainly surprised when he asked if I would make his brother a card. I think it was more to get me back into crafting so he was actually helping me out. This is the card I came up with. I used the Road Trip pattern paper from Papertrey Ink. Since he lives in New York and we live in California I thought it fit. It is pretty explanatory. All products are from Papertrey Ink except for the die I used for the strip borders. I do need to do more because I find it to be very relaxing. I also need to get around to everyone's blog that I have been neglecting. I haven't forgot about you I just have had others things going on and haven't spent much time in the crafting world.

I think that is about it for me today.
Thank you for anyone that does stop by my blog and has a look. I appreciate all that do!!
Have a great day!

With Sympathy

Posted by Picasa
Good Morning! Hope everyone is having a wonderful week so far. I was in need of a sympathy card for a former coworker of my husband's. He recently lost his wife suddenly. I wanted a simple card since it was for a male. When I saw the MIM for Papertrey ink, I thought this would help me in making a card. I used Mat Stack #5 and did the reverse masking with Spring Rain ink. The image is from Botanical Silhoutees anniversary set. I embossed the dandilions with white filigree embossing powder. The base of the card is Rustic Cream CS. I layered a mat to give it a little dimension. Very simple but I am pleased with the way it turned out.

Thank you for stopping by,
Have a great day,

Happy Anniversary !!

Wow!! I can't believe that I am posting two days in a row. My youngest daughter and her husband celebrated their anniversary yesterday and this is the card I made for them. Since they were just here I should have had a card made and ready to give them but I am one that seems to put things off with lots of excuses so I didn't get it done and had to mail it to them. Oh, well they will have something to open in the mail. But of course it won't arrive in time. It is a very simple card. She carried Lilies in her bouguet and these were a few flowers that I had left over from the cake I made for them. It took me a few years but found them when I was going through my cake decorating supplies and decided to use them on this card. I hope they like it.
That is it for me.
Have a wonderful day,

7th Birthday

Good Morning! I know I haven't been on here very much, but I do have a card for you today. My daughter and her family were here for a visit last week. Her oldest daughter had her birthday on the 4th and that was the day that they flew in. It was so nice to be able to celebrate her birthday with her. I was even asked to make her cake for her. She requested that I put pink butterflies, blue flowers and a rainbow on it. I actually make the flowers and butterflies out of candy. Of course that was a big hit!! We had such a busy week and it sure did go by way too fast!!! One of the days we went to the beach. We took a walk on the pier and saw some men fishing. We watched what they were pulling in and it happened to be a shark. They weren't huge but it was a sight to see. I know that is the closest I want to be to a shark either on land or in the water.
This is the card I made for our granddaughter. All products are Papertrey Ink.
That is about it for me at this time. I hope to be able to start crafting more and getting on here on a more regular basis.
Thank you so much for stopping by,
Hope to see you again soon!!
